GILBERTSON'S NEW SCHEME FOR IHRA

Nitro Funny Car racer Bob Gilbertson released an artist's conception of the new
paint scheme that will adorn his race car at all 12 of the IHRA Nitro Jam drag
racing series races for the 2007 season.

Gilbertson, who will once again race both the
NHRA and IHRA circuits this year, wanted to do something a little different for
the IHRA races and commissioned John Bell, who designed his popular "Jungle Jim"
tribute car that he campaigned last year, to come up with a wild new scheme that
will feature his company Trick Tank and the many associate sponsors who support
his Terminator Motorsports team.

RODGER BROGDON RACING HIRES RICKIE SMITH

Rodger Brogdon Racing announced this afternoon that noted crew chief
and tuner Rickie Smith will join the team this weekend in Pomona CA for
the opening race of the 2007 NHRA POWERade season.

Initial
early season testing in Houston showed that Brogdon’s new Pro Stock
team had the horsepower to compete in the very competitive Pro Stock
category, but during the Pro Stock Showdown event in Las Vegas this
past weekend the new car showed that the team would need to rein in the
new chassis to match up with the available horsepower. “Being able to
compare our car to everyone else during the showdown really got us
excited,” said Brogdon. “We struggled with the chassis set-up on
Saturday and ended up not making the cut for the Showdown.” “But we
kept after it and of the twenty cars that stayed and tested on Sunday
we were the seventh fastest and saw the elapsed times continue to
improve as well.”

BOGACKI WINS THE CASH

Noted bracket campaigner Luke Bogacki picked up his first win of the 2007 season
at his first event Saturday at the Footbrake Nationals at Mobile Dragway.
There, Bogacki wheeled his familiar Mickey Thompson Tires backed Vega to a
$5,000 victory over Rick Ament.  Both drivers ran dead-on their dial-ins in the
final round, with Bogacki’s 5.693 (5.69 target) besting Ament’s 5.802 (5.80
dial) by a mere .006 by virtue of his .028 to .036 reaction advantage.

FAST FIVE WITH TED HARBIT

Teacher. Coach. Builder. Racer.

Winner. Studebaker lover. That's Ted Harbit,
an Honoree at the Holley NHRA
National Hot Rod Reunion, June 15-17 at
National Trail Raceway near
Columbus, Ohio.

Harbit raced his
"Chicken Hawk" 1951 Studebaker and won the Stock class
at the NHRA Nationals
an incredible seven times in 11 tries.  A retired
teacher and basketball
coach in the Frankton, Ind. school system, he has
raced continuously in cars
he's built himself for more than 50 years. Ted
retired from class racing
after the '72 U.S. Nationals and drove the
Studebaker occasionally until
1987 when he decided to see how fast it would
really go. With twin
turbochargers and twin four barrel carbs, he's turned a
best of 10.07 at
137.8 mph.  In the Studebaker Drivers Club publication,
Turning Wheels,
Harbit explained why he still uses a Studebaker engine. "My
own experience
has been that it is not necessary to go to expensive
extremes to develop
over 500 HP in a Studebaker V-8. . . and that the
engine is so basically
sturdy that one need not fear immediate disintegration
when higher
horsepowers (sic) have been developed."
