Three-time Mid-West Drag Racing Series Pro Mod champion and series founder Keith Haney has revealed a 2025 Jerry Bickel Race Cars-built C7 Corvette known as the “Black Widow.” The car features the first redesigned C7 body from Cynergy Composites and is targeted for a World Series of Pro Mod debut as part of the Drag Illustrated Winter Series presented by J&A Service.
Haney said the “Black Widow” marks the next step in his program, but its first appearance will come only after testing. The rollout follows news of his involvement with KB Titan Racing and a high-profile week at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
“With all the buzz created from the announcement of my involvement with KB Titan Racing and our new Pro Mod division, on the heels of a huge week at SEMA in Las Vegas, it just felt like the perfect time to roll out the newest member of our fleet — ‘Black Widow’ — and let the world know we’ve got our sights set on shocking the world in Bradenton during the Drag Illustrated Winter Series,” Haney said. “This is a bad, bad hot rod, and we’re coming to make some noise.”
Haney plans to open the season with his proven “Black Mamba” at the Snowbirds before ushering in the new Corvette. He said the U.S. Street Nationals could be an earlier option depending on testing.
“We’re going to open the season with ‘Black Mamba’ at the Snowbirds, no question,” Haney said. “That car’s a proven piece, and we’re coming in ready to fight. The goal is to have ‘Black Widow’ ready as soon as testing says we’re ready. Maybe we bring it out for U.S. Street Nationals if everything comes together early. But really, we’ve got our eyes on the World Series of Pro Mod. That’s the one. That’s where I want to roll this thing out and make a statement.”
The “Black Widow” continues Haney’s practice of naming his cars to build identity and fan connection. He said the approach helps keep the conversation going from race to race.
“I’ve always believed cars should have names — they need personalities,” Haney said. “When you name a car, people remember it. They connect with it. We stirred the pot the last few years with ‘Black Mamba,’ and now ‘Black Widow’ is here to keep things stirred up.”
Built by Jerry Bickel Race Cars and wrapped in Cynergy carbon fiber, the Corvette signals a new chapter for Haney Racing. The project includes contributions from Kryptonite Kustomz, Brandon Switzer and Switzer Dynamics, and Pat Musi Racing Engines.
“The team at Bickel, Kryptonite Kustomz, Brandon Switzer and his crew at Switzer Dynamics, Pat and Liz at Musi, and my team that goes racing with me every weekend — everybody came together to build me a world-class hot rod,” Haney said. “As excited as I am about the car, I’m even more excited to see what we can do with it.”
Haney finished fourth in the 2025 MWDRS Pro Mod standings and remains a visible figure in doorslammer racing. He co-owns Osage Casino & Hotel Tulsa Raceway Park and Tulsa Speedway with Todd Martin.
He is also partnering with KB Titan Racing to help launch its new Pro Mod division in 2026. Haney said the focus is on moving the class forward.
“Pro Mod is in my DNA,” Haney said. “Between what we’re building at KB Titan Racing and everything happening right now in Pro Mod drag racing, this next chapter is about pushing the class forward — innovating, elevating, and keeping the excitement through the roof.”
