Today, most drag racing fans know Billy Meyer as the man who built the Texas Motorplex, one of drag racing’s Seven Wonders of the World. The truth of the matter is Meyer was one of the more decorated and controversial Funny Car racers of the 1970s and 80s.

He was brash. He was bold. He also came off as cocky.

The truth of the matter is Meyer was raised in a positive energy household where accepting defeat was not an option. He raced in the same fashion, often bringing a next-level presentation to drag racing fans, especially sponsors.

Little did Meyer know when he rolled into the NHRA pits in the early 1970s with an 18-wheeler, he was ushering a level of professionalism big-league drag racing hadn’t seen before. Meyer was cocky, but very good.

In this preview for the latest episode of Legends: The Series, Meyer gives a glimpse of what is to come in the explosive next episode of the highly acclaimed drag racing documentary series. The full episode will air on December 22, 2021, at 8 PM EST.
