Why mess with what’s working? And for the Muscle Milk and Shields Racing team, Madison Payne driving their Top Alcohol Dragster is definitely working. Today, the team has announced she will return to the team for another season as their driver.

Payne experienced a sensational rookie season, winning both on the national and regional level, accruing an eighth-place finish in the NHRA Lucas Oil Top Alcohol Dragster division. Her crowning achievement was denying fellow rookie and motorsports icon Tony Stewart a win in the finals of the NHRA Nevada Nationals in Las Vegas. Additionally, she won her first regional event at Wild Horse Motorsports Park.

Payne is scheduled to compete at 11 national events and six regional races in 2023. Team owner Duane Shields will drive the Muscle Milk entry at the NHRA Fourwide Nationals in Las Vegas, April 14-16, and at the Maple Grove Regional event, May 26-28, at Maple Grove Raceway in Mohnton, PA.
