Performance Torque Converters (PTC) has been announced as the presenting sponsor of the Red Line Oil PDRA Drag Racing Series’ Pro 632 class. The Muscle Shoals, Alabama-based company will also provide customer support at all eight national events on the 2025 PDRA schedule.

“We’re honored to welcome a well-regarded brand like PTC to the PDRA as the new presenting sponsor in Pro 632,” said Will Smith, marketing director for PDRA. “Pro 632 is a unique class with some tough competitors and fast cars, and they’ll really benefit from this partnership.”

Founded in December 1995, PTC is now owned by Dustin Mewbourn, who purchased the company from co-founder Kenny Ford in early 2024. PTC has expanded its operations to refine manufacturing processes for customers in drag racing, circle track racing, and other motorsports.

Mewbourn, a racer himself, attended the season-ending Brian Olson Memorial World Finals last fall and saw an opportunity for PTC to engage with the PDRA. “I was very close with Tyler Crossnoe when he was at Holly Springs and Memphis, so he was very inviting when I told him I wanted to see how they run their races,” he said.

Mewbourn, who plans to enter the seven-race Super Street class for a chance at a PDRA world championship, looks forward to connecting with the PDRA racer base. “When I was up that way, there was not near enough PTC stickers on the cars at the World Finals,” he said.

Mewbourn believes that raising brand awareness will help expand PTC’s customer base in the Northeast. “We will set up and have transmissions and converters for sale and on display at all eight races,” he added.
