Is the NHRA looking to return Pro Stock to hood scoops? Word has it that the sanctioning bodies presented an idea to its Pro Stock teams, which included two throttle bodies on a new manifold that could return Pro Stockers to hood scoops. However, the teams voted down this concept.

What they did approve is a new tire accountability procedure that assigns a limited number of tires and wheels to a team which can easily be tracked. This rule is meant to prevent teams from moving around a good set of tires among their cars.

What remains to be seen is how NHRA handles the 18-inch wide wheels, which have apparently made their way into the class.
