Nathan Sitko, Tyler Hilton, and Jason Petit collected victories in their respective classes Sunday at the 54th Annual Nightfire Nationals at Firebird Raceway. The event featured action from nostalgia Funny Car, Top Fuel, and Fuel Altered competition under the NHRA Heritage Series banner.


Sitko captured the Funny Car title with a 5.703-second pass at 250.88 mph to defeat Shane Westerfield in the final round. He advanced through eliminations with wins over Derek Moreira, No. 1 qualifier Tim Boychuck, and John Capps.


Westerfield, who qualified 10th, reached the final after defeating Geoff Monise, Shane Harder, and Michael Peck. The final marked Sitko’s first career win at the Nightfire Nationals.

In Nostalgia Top Fuel, defending world champion Tyler Hilton qualified No. 1 and defeated Sean Van Horn before receiving a bye run into the final. There, he beat Mike Hilton with a 5.794 at 246.93 mph to Mike’s 5.933 at 239.23 mph.


Jason Pettit earned the Fuel Altered win from the No. 4 qualifying position. He defeated Matthew Leonard in the final with a 6.189 at 227.69 mph to Leonard’s 6.853 at 216.76 mph.


Pettit also drove past Greg Leahy and Vince Karsetter in earlier rounds to reach the final.
