The Southeast Gassers Association will stage a 10-race championship tour in 2026, returning its nostalgia-era drag racing program to venues across six southeastern states. The season will open in April and close on Halloween, with events scheduled through June and resuming after a planned July break.

Officials released the schedule on SEGA Live, the group’s weekly talk show. “I think it’s going to be great. We’re going to some new places, we’re going to some places that we have been to before and haven’t been to before – I’m just excited to get back to racing,” SEGA owner Leslie Horne said.

Shadyside Dragway in Shelby, N.C., will serve as the only repeat host, opening the season on April 11 and closing it on Oct. 31. North Carolina leads all states with four events at three tracks, including Rockingham and Farmington.

The second stop will mark SEGA’s first appearance at Holiday Raceway in Woodstock, Ala., on May 2. A planned 2025 debut there was canceled after back-to-back rainouts.

Brainerd Motorsports Park in Ringgold, Ga., will host the May 30 race, continuing its annual draw for fans from north Georgia and the Chattanooga region. SEGA then heads to Knoxville Dragway in Tennessee on June 27, a venue that routinely attracts long-distance spectators.

After the July hiatus, the tour resumes Aug. 1 at Rockingham Dragway, which has undergone significant upgrades and will host its first NHRA national event in 2026. SEGA added the track to broaden its reach in North Carolina.

The series will remain in the state for an Aug. 22 return to Farmington Dragway in Mocksville. SEGA last raced there several seasons ago and cited recent facility improvements in its decision to come back.

The lone South Carolina stop will be Sept. 12 at Greer Dragway, a track deeply tied to the early identity of the Southeast Gassers. It has been more than a decade since SEGA last competed at the property.

A doubleheader weekend at Gulfport Dragway in Mississippi will follow on Oct. 9-10 during the 30th anniversary of Cruisin’ The Coast. SEGA said last year’s twin-race debut at the venue warranted a return for 2026.

The season will conclude Oct. 31 with a second trip to Shadyside Dragway, marking the organization’s fourth and final event in North Carolina. SEGA officials said the 2026 lineup was designed around “core values” and ease of travel for racers and fans.
