The Southeast Gassers Association will resume its 2025 season Aug. 1-2 at Brainerd Motorsports Park after an extended summer break caused by weather delays. The event will serve as the fourth race of the season and a key mid-point stop in the championship chase.
Brainerd Motorsports Park, located just south of the Tennessee-Georgia border off Interstate 75, has a long history with SEGA. The track hosted the 2024 season opener and will again feature competition in A/FX, H/Gas, Super Stock, C/Gas, B/Gas and A/Gas.
Leslie Horne leads the A/Gas standings with two wins, including the most recent race in Knoxville, Tenn. In B/Gas, Ken Rainwater holds the top spot with back-to-back victories at Shadyside Dragway and Knoxville Dragway.
C/Gas has a tie between Jerren Perdue and Ernie Smith, who will make his 100th consecutive SEGA start this weekend. Super Stock points leader Jerry Dean has won every race so far in 2025.

Robert Fraizer leads H/Gas, but Colby Welch emerged as a contender with a win in Knoxville driving his Pontiac-powered Anglia, “The Little Indian.” In A/FX, standings are based on the car rather than the driver, with Todd Wimberly’s “Southern Comfort” currently in first.
The Southeast Gassers Southern Nationals presented by Harbin’s Mechanical Services begins Aug. 1 at 5 p.m. Eastern with test and tune. Qualifying starts Aug. 2 at 1 p.m., followed by eliminations.
Remaining 2025 SEGA dates include Aug. 22-23 at Jackson Dragway, Sept. 19-20 at Knoxville Dragway, Oct. 10-11 at Gulfport Dragway, and Oct. 31-Nov. 1 at Shadyside for the season finale.
