WILLIAMS CAPITALIZES ON FINAL-ROUND BREAK TO SCORE $30K AT SPRING FLING MILLION

Gary Williams added another major payday to his résumé Wednesday, winning $30,000 during Biondo Racing Products Wednesday at the Moser Spring Fling Million presented by RAD Torque Systems. The Bradenton, Florida, racer secured the victory at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Williams’ latest score came in an all-door car final that ended before it truly began. Jayden Lawler of Jacksonville, North Carolina, went red in his Cobalt, handing the win to Williams in his ’02 Sonoma known as “Ole Red.”

The result marked Williams’ second $30,000 Fling victory, adding to a collection that already includes multiple $15,000 wins and Shootout triumphs. His ability to close rounds under pressure continues to separate him in big-dollar bracket competition.

The final-round outcome, however, was shaped by the semifinal matchups that preceded it. Lawler earned his place in the final with a narrow win, while Williams benefited from a solo run.

Lawler faced Gabe Torres in a semifinal decided by thousandths. He held a .009 advantage on the starting line and reached the finish first by .006 to advance.

On the other side, Williams took a single pass to move forward. That run allowed him to stay in rhythm without the pressure of a side-by-side race.

The earlier rounds underscored how tight the field had become by the time eliminations reached the late stages. Every pairing required near-perfect execution.

The remaining six racers included Lawler, Scott Taylor, Gabe Torres, Gabriel Hernandez Sr., Colby Fuller, and Williams. Lawler advanced past Taylor with a .013 reaction time and a .01-above run, while Williams turned in a .001 light and won on the lesser of a double breakout against Fuller’s .008.

In the final pairing of that round, Hernandez fouled by just .005, sending Torres forward. The margins throughout the ladder reflected the precision required to survive in a $30,000 race.

Additional competition on the grounds added depth to Wednesday’s program. Scott Taylor of Columbia Falls, Montana, won the Laris Motorsports Insurance Pro Field over Steven Mang of Westminster, Colorado, earning a $1,000 bonus and a move into the Super Pro ladder.

The Spring Fling Million now transitions into another critical phase of the week. Cascade Truck Body and Trailer Sales Thursday will feature eliminations for a second $30,000 purse.

That program will also introduce the Mr. Cool DIY Direct Second Shot Shootout, where the top 16 best losing packages from the re-entry round will compete for $3,000. The format offers another opportunity for racers who narrowly missed advancing.

COSTIN CAPITALIZES ON PRECISION TO WIN DRAGSTER AT SPRING FLING MILLION IN LAS VEGAS

Cory Costin turned a near-flawless performance on the starting line into a major payday Tuesday, winning a new American Race Cars dragster at the Moser Spring Fling Million presented by RAD Torque Systems. The victory came during Advanced Product Design Tuesday competition at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

The Double Springs, Alabama, racer emerged from a 32-car Shootout field that demanded execution from the first round to the last. Costin delivered that execution in the one place bracket racers cannot afford to miss — the starting line.

APD Tuesday opened with time trials for all drivers on the property before transitioning into eliminations later in the afternoon. The structure gave racers an early opportunity to find a rhythm before the pressure intensified.

Once eliminations began, the margin for error disappeared quickly. Costin responded by stacking together one of the most efficient four-round stretches of the event.

Over his final four rounds, Costin posted a combined .017 reaction time total, with lights of .008, .004, .001, and .004. That level of consistency positioned him as the driver to beat heading into the final round.

It also underscored a broader truth in high-dollar bracket racing. Races are often decided before the cars reach half-track, and Costin made sure he owned that advantage.

In the final, Costin was .014 total to secure the win over Nacho Rivera of Huatabampo, Sonora, Mexico. Rivera was .029 on the tree and ran dead-on zero in a runner-up effort that would have been enough to win many rounds.

The semifinal round set up a final that featured two drivers operating at a high level. Rivera advanced by defeating Will Holloman in a race decided by nine-thousandths on the starting line, reaching the stripe first by .017.

On the opposite side of the ladder, Costin effectively controlled his semifinal from the hit. He was .001 on the tree and advanced past Bug McCarty to punch his ticket to the final.

That semifinal reaction time reinforced the pattern Costin established throughout the day. He dictated races early and forced opponents to chase from behind.

The quarterfinal field reflected the depth of competition in the Shootout. McCarty, James Lee, Holloman, David Wright, Costin, Jeff Dobbins II, Dave Meziere, and Rivera made up the final eight.

While Tuesday’s Shootout delivered one of the week’s headline prizes, it also served as a precursor to the larger payouts still ahead. The Spring Fling Million continues with Biondo Racing Products Wednesday, where 401 entries are scheduled to compete for the first of three $30,000 purses.

Event officials will also begin distributing more than $60,000 in cash and product giveaways as the week progresses. The scale of those payouts reinforces the event’s position as one of the premier stops in big-dollar bracket racing.

Costin’s performance provided an early benchmark for the remainder of the week. If the opening act is any indication, the races ahead will demand the same level of precision he delivered Tuesday.

FLING MILLION RETURNS TO LAS VEGAS WITH $1 MILLION POTENTIAL PAYOUT AND STACKED BRACKET PROGRAM

The 2026 Moser Spring Fling Million has returned to the Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, bringing one of bracket racing’s richest events back into focus with a potential $1 million payday. The Fling Race Series event runs March 31 through April 4, combining high-dollar competition with a packed weekly schedule.

The centerpiece remains Fuel Factory Million Dollar Friday, where a guaranteed $200,000 winner’s purse could escalate to $1 million based on participation. With more than 495 entries projected, the progressive payout structure again places the event among the most lucrative in sportsman drag racing.

Before the headline race, the week builds through a trio of $30,000-to-win events spread across three days. Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday each feature standalone races backed by Biondo Racing Products, Cascade Truck Body & Trailer Sales, and FTI Performance.

That three-day program is offered as a $690 entry special, a pricing model that continues to draw large fields and repeat competitors. It also establishes the foundation for the escalating stakes that define the Fling format.

Tuesday opens competition with time trials beginning at 10 a.m., setting the tone for a week built on volume and opportunity. The early sessions are designed to give racers track time while preparing for the larger payouts later in the week.

One of the marquee early-week attractions is the American Race Cars and Riggeal’s Performance Shootout. The 32-driver field will compete for a complete roller valued at $68,000, equipped with a Biondo gold carbon shifter, carbon fiber body, AutoMeter digital dash, and a Moser rear-end featuring an aluminum center section and 40-spline axles.

The event also introduces a new wrinkle aimed at rewarding racers who narrowly miss advancing. The Mr. Cool DIY Direct Second Shot Shootout allows the top 16 best losing packages from the re-entry round to compete for a $3,000 prize on both Thursday and Friday.

That addition reinforces the Fling Series’ ongoing effort to create value beyond the main rounds. It also provides an added layer of strategy for racers managing multiple entries and second-chance opportunities.

The Laris Motorsports Insurance Pro Field program continues to offer incentives for higher-tier competitors. Pro racers can earn a $1,000 bonus during the $30,000 races and $3,000 during the Million event, while still remaining eligible for standard round money and prizes.

Pro competitors also gain access to an exclusive Pro Treasure Chest and maintain eligibility for combined-category competition. The last remaining Pro entry each day rolls into the Super Pro category, extending their earning potential deeper into eliminations.

Track access remains open throughout the week, with gate entries accepted for racers looking to join mid-event. That flexibility has become a hallmark of the Fling format, contributing to its consistently large fields.

For those unable to attend, the entire event will be broadcast live on the @RaceTheFlings YouTube channel. The livestream, presented by Hoosier Racing Tire and JEGS Performance, ensures full access to one of the sport’s most watched independent events.

As the 2026 season opens, the Spring Fling Million again positions itself as a proving ground for bracket racers chasing both consistency and life-changing payouts. In a discipline defined by precision, Las Vegas once again offers the biggest stage — and the biggest reward — for those who can deliver it.
