VIDEO FLASHBACK - PRO NITROUS FLAMETHROWERS

We are back in the archives again; visiting the 2015 season when we assigned then CompetitionPlusTV videographer Les Mayhew to seek out the best of the best in PDRA Pro Nitrous and explain the phenomena of the high flames at the hit.

What he delivered was 4four-and-a-half minutes of pure informative gold. You might know some of it, and then again, you might learn something new.

CLASSIC VIDEO: 1980 NHRA SUMMERNATS

Take a trip back in time when the SUMMERS meant hot and fast drag racing at Raceway Park in Englishtown, NJ. You'll see the dry hops of old and the legends including Jeb Allen, Dick LaHaie, Don Prudhomme, Billy Meyer and Pro Stock legends Bob Glidden and the late Lee Shepherd.

You'll even see the sportsman finals and a good look at the legendary Wayne County Opel A/Gasser. For some reason, the broadcast missed the Pro Comp final round.

Another great trip back in time with Diamond P producing the show for ABC's Wide World of Sports.

The highly anticipated season opener of the 2020 Red Line Shirt Club Funny Car Chaos Championship Series presented by Entech Oil was held March 13th and 14th at Pine Valley Raceway in Lufkin, Texas. Tucked deep into far East Texas, this event marked the first major event of the new decade at Pine Valley and despite an unfavorable forecast, over 2,000 spectators and racers made it through the gates for two days of funny car filled fun and entertainment. Thankfully, not a single drop of rain landed on the property and the Funny Car Chaos racers put on one heck of a show for the fans in Lufkin!

This rare video gem was broadcast on Speedvision and features coverage of the 1975 IHRA Pro Am Nationals, the traditional spring race hosted by Rockingham Dragway. Back in the day the IHRA provided an alternative to the larger NHRA and to be honest, the racing wasn't that bad. You'll see in this two-part video rewind footage of Don Garlits, Shirl Greer, Raymond Beadle, Bob Glidden, General Lee Edwards and more. It's just the perfect video for a holiday.

A JAKE SIMMONS CINEMA - NITRO ASCENSION

Jake Simmons, CompetitionPlusTV's talented lead videographer, understands the importance of getting just the right shot to complement the angle for the many videos produced by the site. However, after the demand of fulfilling the deadlines, and left to his own artistic interpretation, he's free to edit and produce oil in his own vision.

Simmons' latest work of art, Nitro Ascension, captures all of his new tricks he's learned along the way. This footage captured at the Professional Racers organization annual preseason test session delivers the pure excitement of nitro racing. He's nailed it here.

WATCH THE LATEST EPISODE OF TOP ALKAHAULIN'

After spending a year promoting the NHRA Top Alcohol classes on social media, InsideTopAlcohol’s Will Hanna has launched a new project – Top Alkahaulin’. The show features the stars of the Top Alcohol categories by following two teams through a race weekend.

“I have always thought the Top Alcohol classes have some great personalities,” said Hanna. “What I’ve seen this year promoting the classes on InsideTopAlcohol’s social media pages is fans love these cars and teams. There are real people racing real fast cars on a real big stage.

“With the Top Alcohol classes, you can see the results, watch the results on the Fox Sports coverage, but you don’t really get to see or know the backstory,” Hanna continued. “We introduce the teams and follow them round by round as the weekend goes on. We not only talk to the drivers but the tuners and crew to get multiple perspectives. The 2019 Top Alcohol World Championship battles were some of the best we’ve seen in years. We were able to follow the contenders as it happened.”

Hanna looks forward to producing an episode for each of the 16 NHRA National events the Top Alcohol classes are competing at, plus a few more events.
