CLASSIC VIDEO: UP IN SMOKE WITH GARLITS AND PRUDHOMME

No, it's not a Cheech and Chong tribute movie.

Instead, what you get is a Goodyear-sponsored documentary which appeared on ABC's Wide World of Sports, in 1972, featuring Don Garlits and Don Prudhomme and their journey through the season-opening Internationals in Pomona, Ca. It is hosted by iconic sports announcer Keith Jackson.

There's also a cameo from rookie Funny Car pilot Shirley "Cha Cha" Muldowney discussing the role of a female driver in drag racing.

CLASSIC VIDEO - 1986 IHRA FALL NATIONALS, BRISTOL, TENN.

Travel back to a time when IHRA was on its own for the first time since 1975, minus Winston/RJ Reynolds series sponsorship. Still, the big names ran with the Bristol, Tenn.-based series.

You'll see the legends battling it out for supremacy at the IHRA's flagship facility, Thunder Valley Dragway in Bristol.

We'd be remiss if we didn't make mention of the fact it was also an event where Buddy Ingersoll's V-6 Buick not only qualified for the Mountain Motor Pro Stock division, but also got his car regulated out of competition. You'll just have to see for yourself what transpired.

A CAJUN WEEKEND CLASSIC: 1984 NHRA CAJUN NATIONALS

From the onset of this presentation of the annual pilgrimage to Baton Rouge, La., one could feel this wouldn't be the normal presentation of the NHRA Nationals.

The Ed McCulloch/John Collins Funny Car crash was one which hadn't been seen broadly in drag racing since the legendary Jeb Allen/John Weibe incident nearly a decade early.

There was all kinds of action featuring the legends Gary Beck, Mark Oswald, Joe Amato and a new Thunderbrid of Bob Glidden.

Take a trip back to the glory days of NHRA when Moose's weekend never presented a dull moment.
