No stranger to the thrill of performing in front of thousands of fans, country music rising superstar Cole Swindell experienced a different kind of adrenaline rush on Wednesday at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The platinum-selling singer and songwriter rode shotgun with NASCAR star Ryan Blaney in a NASCAR Racing Experience stock car, setting the stage for Swindell’s May 19 Monster Energy All-Star Race Concert presented by Rayovac Batteries, Kwikset, George Foreman and National Hardware.

It's great testimony to the competitive nature of racers that a few of them even thought they had a chance against Kevin Harvick last Sunday in Las Vegas.

Then again, I suppose it's natural. It is the reason they have casinos there. In the Pennzoil 400, Harvick had the house money.

While NASCAR officials hunker down with their scientific data and try to figure out how to slow down Kevin Harvick's Ford without slowing down everyone else, too, many of the racers have a refreshing attitude: Harvick is definitely faster and has been for two races. It's our job to catch him.

NBCSN TO BROADCAST 2018 NASCAR K&N PRO SERIES AND WHELEN MODIFIED TOUR RACES FEATURING NEXT GENERATION OF NASCAR STARS

NBC Sports Group and NASCAR are partnering to deliver NASCAR K&N Pro Series and NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour coverage on NBCSN throughout the 2018 season. Today the organizations announced the full broadcast schedule, where fans can tune-in to see the next generation of drivers competing to make a name for themselves on the track. 

The NASCAR K&N Pro Series West returns to NBCSN on Tuesday, March 20 at 11 p.m. ET from Kern County Raceway Park, followed by the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour race at Myrtle Beach Speedway on Wednesday, March 21 at 6 p.m. ET.

To celebrate National Anthem Day, Chicagoland Speedway today announced the return of Jim Cornelison who will belt “The Star Spangled Banner” at the Magnificent Mile and a Half. Cornelison is better known as the “Gold Standard” for his iconic rendition of the ballad. His performance will headline Chicagoland Speedway’s patriotic tribute during the Stars and Stripes weekend June 28 – July 1, 2018.
 
“Jim Cornelison has become a revered tradition and integral part of our pre-race ceremonies over the years,” said Scott Paddock, President of Chicagoland Speedway. “Jim’s iconic voice is a perfect complement to the unparalleled pageantry and patriotism that NASCAR uniquely presents to the most loyal and passionate fan base in all of sports.”

The top eight finishers in last week's Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 were veterans with at least eight seasons of Cup experience.

The next race is at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, where in 20 previous Cup races, only one young driver, then-23-year-old Kyle Busch in 2009, has ever won. He was, however, in his fifth full Cup season at the time.

Austin Dillon, 27, won the Daytona 500. This is his fifth full season.

Kevin Harvick held three fingers out his window on his way to Victory Lane after Sunday's Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
 
The salute to Dale Earnhardt Sr. replicated the one he made 17 years ago after his first win as a NASCAR Cup Series driver. 
It was also the last time Harvick won at AMS, despite leading more laps at the 1.54-mile oval than anyone else.

Brett Moffitt slid down to the bottom groove, surged to the lead in overtime and won the Active Pest Control 200 benefiting Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Saturday night at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
 
Moffitt got a chance to claim just his second Camping World Truck Series win after pole-sitter Kyle Busch had a pit miscommunication under caution late.
 
The field pitted with six laps to go, and Busch, who led 67 laps, left his pit box before the lugs on his left rear tire were secure. Busch made it off pit road and the tire fell off. He reversed to get it fixed, but a win was no longer in the cards.
