SUNDAY FINAL – LANGDON, HAGAN, GLENN, AND HERRERA WIN NHRA NORTHWEST NATIONALS TITLES IN SEATTLE

Shawn Langdon moved into the Top Fuel points lead Sunday with a win over Brittany Force in the final round of the NHRA Northwest Nationals at Pacific Raceways. Matt Hagan (Funny Car), Dallas Glenn (Pro Stock), and Gaige Herrera (Pro Stock Motorcycle) also claimed victories in their respective professional categories.
Langdon powered his Kalitta Air Careers dragster to a 3.662-second pass at 337.07 mph, earning his third win of the season and the 22nd of his career. He topped Force, who recorded the fastest run in NHRA history at 341.85 mph in the semifinals, but smoked the tires in the title duel. Langdon beat Cameron Ferre and Tony Stewart earlier in the day before winning at Pacific Raceways for the first time.
“We knew the expectation for today of what we wanted to accomplish,” Langdon said. “From here on out, it’s just about doing the same thing, keep making great runs.”
Force reached her second final of the year with wins over Ida Zetterstrom, Antron Brown, and Doug Kalitta, who earlier set a track-record 3.628 in the opening round of eliminations. In the semis, Force took advantage of prime atmospheric and track conditions with a stellar 3.659 and the record 341.85 to end Kalitta’s victory hopes.

In Funny Car, Hagan drove his Direct Connection Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat to a 3.904 at 331.94 to defeat Ron Capps. Hagan squeezed out the win by 2/100ths of a second, as Capps stopped the timers at 3.919, 331.61.
Hagan beat Buddy Hull, Jack Beckman, and Alexis DeJoria to reach the final, where his .054-second reaction time helped seal the victory. The win was Hagan’s first of 2025, and the 53rd of his career while moving him to third in points.
“This was a get-healthy weekend for us moving into Sonoma,” Hagan said. “Everybody’s really tough in Funny Car, but we were able to put it all together today.”
Capps appeared in his fourth final of the year and 156th of his career. Austin Prock, who lost in the second round to Spencer Hyde, retained a 140-point lead in the standings heading to Sonoma, California, next weekend (July 25-27).

Glenn won at his home track for the first time in NHRA Pro Stock, taking advantage of a red-light foul by Jeg Coughlin Jr. in the final. Glenn picked up his fourth win of the season and 17th of his career.
Glenn set the track record three times during qualifying and added the second-quickest run in Pro Stock history at 6.446 seconds Sunday. “It’s definitely really special,” Glenn said. “I feel like this is the best car I’ve ever had. We’re definitely not taking our foot off the gas.”
Coughlin, last year’s Seattle winner, reached his first final of 2025 by defeating Erica Enders, Cory Reed, and Cody Coughlin. Thanks to a major first-round upset – Cory Reed’s win over points leader Greg Anderson by .009 seconds – Glenn is now the leader in the division.

Herrera earned his 25th career Pro Stock Motorcycle win – the fastest anyone has reached that milestone – by beating Richard Gadson with a 6.690 at 201.55. It was Herrera’s fourth win of the year and second at Pacific Raceways.
The two-time world champion swept past Chase Van Sant and Matt Smith to reach the final and became the first rider to dip into the 6.60s at Pacific Raceways. “I never would imagine getting to 25 this quick,” Herrera said. “It still feels like my first. Every time you win, you push yourself for another.”
Gadson reached his fourth final of 2025 with wins over Angie Smith and Chris Bostick. Herrera leads the standings by 138 points heading to Sonoma, which also features the Pro Stock Motorcycle All-Star Callout.
The NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series continues July 25-27 with the Denso NHRA Sonoma Nationals presented by PowerEdge at Sonoma Raceway.
SATURDAY QUALIFYING – KALITTA, PROCK, GLENN AND HALL CLAIM SEATTLE #1 QUALIFIER STATUS

Doug Kalitta (Top Fuel), Austin Prock (Funny Car), Dallas Glenn (Pro Stock), and John Hall (Pro Stock Motorcycle) qualified No. 1 at the NHRA Northwest Nationals, the 11th of 20 races during the 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season.
Kalitta easily held on to the No. 1 position, as Friday’s stellar pass of 3.671 at 335.90 in his Mac Tools dragster gave the veteran his sixth No. 1 qualifier of the season. Kalitta also made a strong run to close out qualifying (3.720), qualifying No. 1 for the 64th time in his career and giving the veteran confidence he can go to the winner’s circle for the first time in 2025.
“Tomorrow, obviously, is another opportunity [or a first season win], just hoping to go rounds,” Kalitta said. “It’s just a matter of getting yourself to the final and getting a shot at it. It’s been a while since we made it to the final.
“We definitely have a good opportunity for tomorrow. We’ve got to take advantage of these opportunities over the next couple of weeks. Indy will be here before you know it. Just happy to have this momentum and everybody working together, so I’m looking forward to the stretch for sure.”
Shawn Langdon, Saturday’s #2FAST2TASTY winner, qualified second at 3.689, 332.92, and Brittany Force took third at 3.703 and a track-record 340.47.

In Funny Car, Prock, the reigning NHRA Funny Car champion saved his best for last, going 3.879 seconds at 332.43 mph in his Cornwell Tools Chevrolet SS to slip past Matt Hagan in the final round of the Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge, which closed out qualifying.
Prock, the points leader, scored his fourth No. 1 qualifier of 2025. Pacific Raceways has certainly turned into a special place for Prock, too, as his first career NHRA win came in Seattle, and he followed by sweeping the weekend a year ago.
The standout is on track to do that again after two stellar days in Seattle. He opens eliminations against rookie Dylan Winefsky on his quest to capture his third straight win of the year.
“That was definitely gratifying. That was a clutch performance by this Cornwell Tools team,” Prock said. “I’m really happy to be behind the wheel of this thing. We executed that perfectly, and what a show for the fans to close out Funny Car qualifying with side-by-side runs going for the top spot. That was a hell of a show.”
Matt Hagan qualified second, going 3.887 at 332.43, in his thrilling side-by-side duel with Prock. Friday’s first-round leader J.R. Todd took third with a 3.901, 329.26.

Glenn established the track record during both qualifying sessions, including a career-best 6.462 at 212.73 in his RAD Torque Systems Chevrolet Camaro to earn the No. 1 qualifier spot.
Glenn made two runs of 6.46 on Saturday, saving the best for last against Greg Anderson to close out a truly memorable day.
“I think it’s really special. We’ve done a lot of testing with my car, and it’s showing right now,” Glenn said. “To go 6.46 in Gainesville is one thing because you know the air is always good; everybody kind of expects it. But to do it here, it’s pretty special. It’s definitely a really good feeling and a good testament to how hard these engine guys have been working, how hard we’ve been working in the shop.”
Cody Coughlin qualified second with a 6.469, 211.66, and Anderson took third with a 6.472 at 212.36.

Hall maintained his recent pace, wrapping up his first career No. 1 qualifier on his American Rebel Beer/Matt Smith Racing Buell.
Hall’s first victory in 12 years came just weeks ago in Norwalk, and he’s followed that with a pair of outstanding days in Seattle. He’ll open eliminations from the top spot, as Friday’s run of 6.717 at 201.76 held up through Saturday..
“Everything I’ve accomplished in the last three weeks has been amazing, and it’s great to get a No. 1,” Hall said. “I’ll take whatever I can get, and I love it. It’s great being on top, but you’ve got to enjoy it while you’re there, because in drag racing, you could be on the bottom really quick.
“Qualifying No. 1 is always your goal when you get to the racetrack, but I never really thought about it.”
Gaige Herrera qualified second with a 6.721 at 201.76, and Matt Smith took third at 6.733, 201.88.

FRIDAY QUALIFYING – KALITTA, TODD, ANDERSON AND HALL LEAD FRIDAY QUALIFYING IN NHRA NORTHWEST NATIONALS

Doug Kalitta narrowly missed his own track record Friday, but claimed the provisional No. 1 spot in Top Fuel at the Muckleshoot Casino Resort NHRA Northwest Nationals. Kalitta ran 3.671 seconds at 335.90 mph under the lights to lead the opening round of qualifying at Pacific Raceways in Kent, Wash.
J.R. Todd (Funny Car), Greg Anderson (Pro Stock) and John Hall (Pro Stock Motorcycle) also topped their respective categories after the first day of qualifying. Each driver earned the Deecell Power Systems “After Dark Low Qualifier” bonus for his performance.
Kalitta’s run came within .001 of a second of his 2024 track-record pass. A sixth No. 1 qualifier this year would extend his strong qualifying season as he chases his first race win of 2025.
“The conditions were good, and I was really hopeful my car would go out there and run a good number,” Kalitta said. “We were making a lot of changes back in the staging lanes because people were smoking the tires. I wasn’t sure if they backed the thing down or what but when the thing left, I could tell it was really running. I wasn’t sure what it ran, but I was definitely pleased to hear what we ended up with.
“I’m sure they’ll be gunning for that tomorrow because it’s definitely within reach,” Kalitta added. “I’m just real fortunate Alan (Johnson, crew chief) and Mac (Savage) and my whole team can throw down with the best of them.”
Kalitta Motorsports teammate Shawn Langdon sits second with a 3.689 at 332.92, while Brittany Force is third after a 3.703 at a track-record 340.47 mph.

In Funny Car, Todd delivered a 3.901, 329.26 in his DHL Toyota GR Supra to lead the field. He was one of just two drivers in the category to record a three-second run Friday.
Todd said his car was a handful down the track but got the job done. “From the time I hit the gas, a whole sequence of events happened. It picked the front end up pretty good. I must have had it pointed right, so I snatch it back left, and then goes out there and quivers the tires a little bit,” Todd said.
“Once that happens, it kind of puts you behind, then there’s a pretty good bump out there, so I’m just steering the thing all over the place,” he added. “I definitely did not expect it to make it, but it did.”
Chad Green is second in Funny Car at 3.928, and was the only other driver to run in the three-second zone – or fours – Friday. Austin Prock is third with a 5.580.

Pro Stock saw Anderson and Dallas Glenn trade track records throughout the night before Anderson took the top spot. His 6.472 at 211.13 gave him the lead and the low-qualifier bonus.
“Two great runs for both of us. We’re certainly not disappointed either way,” Anderson said. “Getting the track record is definitely cool, but sometimes that low E.T. doesn’t win a race. I’d certainly rather have the fastest race car. It appears that either Dallas or I have that right now, but it doesn’t guarantee anything.”
Glenn was second at 6.479, with Greg Stanfield in third at 6.493.

Hall, fresh off his first win in 12 years last month, set a career-best 6.717 at 201.76 to lead Pro Stock Motorcycle. If it holds, Hall would earn his first career No. 1 qualifier.
“I could have probably gone close to that in the first round, but I screwed up, so we knew it had power, we knew it was fast, and I just went out there and did it,” Hall said. “Matt and Angie [Smith] have done a lot of work and research. This bike just wasn’t running in the beginning of the season. They spent a lot of time and money and effort to get this bike to where it is, and now it’s fast, obviously.”
Gaige Herrera is second in Pro Stock Motorcycle at 6.721, with Matt Smith third at 6.733.
Qualifying resumes Saturday at 12:30 p.m. PT at Pacific Raceways.
