SUNDAY FINAL – PROCK, ASHLEY, REED AND HALL CLAIM WINS AT NHRA NATIONALS IN NORWALK

Funny Car points leader Austin Prock earned his fourth win of the season Sunday, defeating Matt Hagan in the final round of the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals at Norwalk, Ohio.
Joining Prock in the winner’s circle were Justin Ashley (Top Fuel), Cory Reed (Pro Stock) and John Hall (Pro Stock Motorcycyle).
Prock posted a 4.064-second, 318.54-mph run, edging out Hagan’s 4.099 for his first career victory at the facility and his 16th overall win.
“To get it done with the Force family back in the house, that was a big deal,” Prock said. “Winning in (Cornwell Tools’) backyard, sending the trophy home with them — I delivered the championship trophy to them this weekend, so to send them home with two pieces of hardware definitely makes me feel good.”
Prock reached the final by defeating Dale Creasy Jr., Bob Tasca III, and Ron Capps. Hagan advanced past J.R. Todd, Jack Beckman, and No. 1 qualifier Cruz Pedregon to reach his first final of the season and the 94th of his career.

Ashley secured his first win at Norwalk and second in as many races with a holeshot triumph over Clay Millican. Ashley ran a 3.931, 317.34, to Millican’s quicker 3.922, aided by a .027-second reaction time in his Scag Power Equipment dragster.
“It’s very exciting to get my first win here,” Ashley said. “Norwalk means a lot to me personally. My father won in Funny Car here in 2007, and ever since we started racing in Top Fuel, it was a dream of mine to win right here, and that’s what we did today.”
Ashley qualified No. 1 and defeated Scott Farley, Josh Hart, and Shawn Langdon to reach the final. He now trails points leader Tony Stewart by 77 points with half the season in the books.

Reed claimed his first career Pro Stock victory, defeating teammate Dallas Glenn in the final round with a 6.648 at 207.30 in his J&A Service Chevrolet Camaro. Glenn shook the tires at the start, allowing Reed to coast to the win.
“All I know is I got Dallas off the tree, which was a very big accomplishment for myself,” Reed said. “I struggled all day with lights, so I was proud of myself for coming around like that.”
Reed moved through Troy Coughlin Jr., Greg Stanfield, and No. 1 qualifier Greg Anderson to reach the final. Glenn, who has appeared in seven of the last eight finals, beat Val Smeland, Cody Coughlin, and Matt Hartford in eliminations.

Pro Stock Motorcycle veteran Hall returned to the winner’s circle for the first time since 2013, defeating Richard Gadson with a 6.880 at 196.67 aboard his American Rebel Beer Buell. Gadson launched with a .021 light, but Hall drove around him for his third career win.
“You never know if you’re going to get another one,” Hall said. “Matt Smith Racing is one of the hardest-working teams out here, and they get you to the winner’s circle if you do your job.”
Hall defeated Wesley Wells, Marc Ingwersen, and points leader Gaige Herrera before topping Gadson.

SATURDAY QUALIFYING – PRO LEADERBOARD REMAINS UNCHANGED IN FINAL DAY OF NHRA NORWALK NATIONALS QUALIFYING

It was hot. It was humid, and it was a day where the No. 1 qualifiers from Friday rested on their laurels. The four professional leaders at the NHRA Nationals in Norwalk, Ohio, maintained their top spots headed into Sunday.
Justin Ashley (Top Fuel), Cruz Pedregon (Funny Car), Greg Anderson (Pro Stock) and Matt Smith (Pro Stock Motorcycle) qualified No. 1 at the 10th of 20 races during the 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season.
Ashley retained the provisional No. 1 qualifier with a 3.752-second pass at 330.88 mph in his Scag Power Equipment dragster. The run secured his first top qualifier of the season and seventh of his career, and he will face Scott Farley in the first round of eliminations.
Ashley heads into Sunday following a remarkable streak of five final-round appearances in the last six races. “We try to use qualifying the right way, to set ourselves up for Sunday,” he said. “Anybody can win, especially in today’s Top Fuel class.”
Antron Brown took the No. 2 qualifying spot with a 3.755, 333.33 pass. Tony Stewart secured the third berth at 327.11 mph after overcoming an engine explosion earlier in the day.

Pedregon grabbed the provisional top spot after a 3.890-second run at 318.39 mph in his Snap-On Makers and Fixers Dodge Hellcat. The two-time world champion earned his 65th career No. 1 qualifier—his first since early 2023—and will face Buddy Hull in the first round of eliminations.
“I’m confident we’ll get our heads together and make the right adjustments,” Pedregon said. “There’s nothing like turning on win lights on Sundays.” Defending champion and points leader Austin Prock qualified second with a 3.900, 331.28, while Ron Capps secured the third spot at 3.908, 325.06.

Anderson maintained the provisional top qualifier position by improving Saturday with a 6.594-second run at 206.78 mph in his HendrickCars.com Chevrolet Camaro. The four-time No. 1 qualifier this season will take the No. 1 seed into Sunday’s eliminations.
Dallas Glenn qualified second with a 6.596, 207.15, and Matt Hartford landed third at 207.21 mph with a 6.604-second run.

Smith, a six-time world champion, claimed his first No. 1 qualifier of the season in Pro Stock Motorcycle after running a 6.816-second pass at 200.86 mph on his Denso Auto Parts Buell. The effort marked his 59th career top qualifier.
“We qualified five bikes in the top seven,” Smith said. “When the track gets this hot with a lot of humidity, it’s hard to get off the line. I feel like we have the best bike from eighth-mile to finish line.”
Gaige Herrera followed with a 6.820-second effort at 199.11 mph for the No. 2 slot, and John Hall took third with a 6.832-second run at 199.35 mph.
Eliminations for the NHRA Nationals begin at 11 a.m. EDT Sunday, with championship implications building as the season reaches its midpoint in the 20-event season.
#2FAST2TASTY- KALITTA, WILKERSON, HERRERA CLAIM SATURDAY WINS IN MISSION #2FAST2TASTY CHALLENGE

Doug Kalitta won the Top Fuel final of the Mission #2Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge on Saturday at Summit Motorsports Park, defeating Tony Stewart and clinching his fourth bonus race victory of the season.
Kalitta’s 3.953-second pass at 294.37 mph came in a high-stakes moment, as he entered the round not yet qualified for eliminations. The win also secured him the No. 15 spot in the field.
“Usually, it’s just a one-race thing, but it’s our home track and we’ve got our pits full with all of our guests,” Kalitta said. “The timing was good to get down the track and get in the show.”
With the victory, Kalitta has earned 18 bonus points toward the Countdown to the Championship. “Obviously, we appreciate everything Mission Foods does,” he said. “The whole concept is good, and we’re real fortunate that we got down the track.”
Stewart smoked the tires early in the final, while Kalitta relied on a late push and adjustments from his team, led by Alan Johnson. “I’ve got such confidence in my group,” Kalitta said. “I was just really hoping to get the win and then make it down the track.”

In Funny Car, Daniel Wilkerson picked up his second consecutive Mission Challenge win, defeating points leader Austin Prock with a 4.151, 305.56 run in his Scag Power Equipment Ford Mustang.
Wilkerson praised his team’s performance in that duel, as well as a semifinal victory over Jack Beckman. “Both of these wins have come in warm conditions, but we’ve navigated it well,” he said.
The win was a key moment for Wilkerson’s young driving career and for the team led by his father and crew chief, Tim Wilkerson.
“Having not won anything ourselves yet since I took over driving, these wins are a serious morale boost and a serious confidence boost,” he said.
He also acknowledged the added benefit of racing Saturday. “Getting to run on Saturday, actually, I think it’s starting to help me a little bit,” Wilkerson said. “To get to practice racing is going to help me a lot.”

Gaige Herrera collected his third Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge win of the season in Pro Stock Motorcycle. He posted a 6.831-second run at 198.15 mph after Angie Smith red-lit.
“Yesterday, we were kind of scratching our heads, especially after the last two runs,” Herrera said. “We were here late working on the bikes, just trying to figure out what we needed to do.”
The win provided a timely boost of confidence heading into race day. “Getting the Mission Foods win here for the third time is awesome,” Herrera said. “It gives me a little cushion and a lot of confidence going in tomorrow.”
HARTFORD HITS PAYDIRT, DEFEATS ANDERSON IN PRO STOCK ALL‑STAR SHOWDOWN

Matt Hartford earned his first win in the GETTRX Pro Stock All‑Star Callout on Saturday at Summit Motorsports Park, overcoming reigning world champion Greg Anderson in the final round.
The victory came with a $40,000 prize and a measure of redemption from last year’s defeat, but this time Hartford got the upper hand. Hartford raced to the win at 6.609 seconds at 207.88 mph in his Total Seal Chevrolet Camaro.
“It’s Bill Bader country here – everything about this facility is top notch,” Hartford said. “To be able to win here is even better. We beat Eric Latino, Dallas Glenn and Greg Anderson — three really tough competitors who all have the same power that we have.”
Hartford triumphed over teammate Latino in the first round with a 6.615 at 206.89. That set the tone and injected early momentum into his campaign.
Anderson followed with a strong performance, defeating six‑time world champion Erica Enders with a 6.587-second pass at 205.98 mph. He then called out Jeg Coughlin Jr. in anticipation of further success.

Hartford faced Dallas Glenn next, and edged him out with a 6.603-second run at 207.82 mph. That set the stage for the championship match against Anderson, who sidelined Coughlin with the identical 6.61 that teammate Glenn had run.
Hartford maintained control in the final round, never trailing Anderson. His consistent timing delivered the win and solidified his breakout performance.
“These conditions are very difficult,” Hartford said of the summer heat. “We made some really good calls today. We ran consistent, and I think that’s what it’s going to take for tomorrow.”
He reflected on his earlier success at Norwalk, saying, “We won this race two years ago and we were consistent in qualifying. If we can go out and be consistent on a tree and make good laps, you know we’re looking for a long day tomorrow.”
Anderson held the provisional No. 1 qualifier position after Friday’s session with a 6.594-second pass at 206.78 mph. That marked his fourth No. 1 spot this season and added to a résumé that already includes four wins.
FRIDAY QUALIFYING – ASHLEY, PEDREGON, ANDERSON, SMITH LEAD FRIDAY QUALIFYING IN NORWALK

Justin Ashley paced the Top Fuel field Friday with a 3.752-second pass at 330.88 mph to claim the provisional No. 1 spot at the NHRA Summit Nationals. The run at Summit Motorsports Park could mark Ashley’s first No. 1 qualifier of the season and the seventh of his career.
Ashley, the most recent Top Fuel winner in Richmond, has appeared in five final rounds over the past six races. “When you look at the first nine races, we’ve been to a total of five final rounds, and that’s a really difficult thing to do in today’s Top Fuel class,” Ashley said.
The run came ahead of points leader Tony Stewart and three-time champion Antron Brown, who posted 3.755-second runs. Brown earned the second spot by running 333.33 mph, while Stewart went 327.11 in Q2 following a dramatic engine explosion in the opening session.

In Funny Car, Cruz Pedregon delivered a 3.890 at 318.39 mph to secure the top provisional qualifying spot in a field of 21 entries. It puts the veteran on track for his first No. 1 qualifier in over two years.
“We rolled the dice. Going up there it was either going to make a good run or we were going to see a whole lot of tire smoke,” Pedregon said. “We just need a little racing luck. It goes a long way.”
Pedregon credited his young crew, led by crew chief Jason Bunker. “Austin Prock has the Prock Rocket and we have the Bunker Buster,” he added.
Prock sits second after a 3.900 at 331.28, followed by Ron Capps in third with a 3.908 at 325.06.

Pro Stock qualifying was topped by Greg Anderson, who posted the quickest runs in both sessions. His better run came in the evening round with a 6.594-second pass at 206.78.
Anderson also leads the points and enters Saturday’s GETTRX Pro Stock All-Star Callout as the top seed. “I’ve got as much confidence as you can possibly take going into Saturday and Sunday,” Anderson said. “We’ve got four (KB Titan( cars in the (Callout) tomorrow, so I like our chances.”
Anderson, who recently celebrated his 1,000th career round win, called out Erica Enders in the opening round of Saturday’s special event. “There’s no question who I’m going to call out,” he said earlier this week. “It’s going to be a great battle.”
Dallas Glenn is currently second with a 6.596 at 207.15, and Matt Hartford holds third at 6.604 and 207.21.

Matt Smith led Pro Stock Motorcycle with a 6.824-second run at 200.68 mph to close out Friday qualifying. Smith is aiming for his first No. 1 qualifier of the season and the 59th of his career.
“We’ve gotten beat up this year with the performance of the Vance & Hines bikes,” Smith said. “We’re behind about two or three hundredths but sometimes that’s all it takes.”
Smith’s Denso-backed Buell topped a field that also included strong efforts from teammates. John Hall ran 6.832 at 199.35 for second, and Ron Tornow posted a 6.874 at 197.88 for third.
“We stayed Monday after Virginia to try and better ourselves,” Smith said. “We’re focused on trying to get our four bikes in the top eight.”
The GETTRX Pro Stock All-Star Callout begins Saturday at 11:30 a.m. EDT with semifinals at 1:20 p.m. and finals at 3:50 p.m. NHRA qualifying resumes at noon.
Friday’s results after the first two of four rounds of qualifying for the 19th annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals at Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park, 10th of 20 events in the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series.
