The 2024-2025 NDRC Grand Final for Top Fuel and Nitro Funny Car scheduled to be held at Sydney Dragway on August 23 has been postponed due to rain.

The event will now be held on November 8.

The venue had been drenched in rain for over a week before organisers decided to cancel the meeting.

American duo Tommy Johnson and Larry Dixon were scheduled to make cameo appearances in Funny Car with Aeroflow Racing and Rapisarda Autosport International in Top Fuel respectively having made the 51 hours return trip from their homes in Indianapolis.

Spare a thought for the luckless Dixon who on two of his last three visits to race in Australia has gone home empty handed when meetings at Sydney have been cancelled.

At the Australia Day Nationals in January 2024 on day one Dixon missed all three rounds of racing due to electrical issues and day two was washed out.
The other hard luck story belongs to Top Fuel’s “Mr. Nice Guy” Kyle Putland who travelled 2600 miles from Perth, Western Australia to Sydney.
