Fourth-generation racer Bridget Minor recently completed a Super Comp licensing course at Frank Hawley’s Drag Racing School, marking a significant step in her driving career. The course took place at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway from September 30 to October 1, 2024.

Bridget, the great-granddaughter of NHRA legend Larry Minor, initially raced off-road and won a championship with her UTV 570. She obtained her NHRA competition license in 2022 at age 15, quickly adapting to the demands of drag racing.

“It was amazing and Frank [Hawley] is really smart. He taught us so much about the psychology of racing,” said Bridget, who noted that driving a full-size dragster was a different experience than her Junior Dragster. “Frank helped me get out of my head and figure out how to relax. Going 150+ mph is way different than going 80 in the Junior… I just love going fast and am so glad I got my license!”

Hawley, a former driver for Bridget’s great-grandfather, praised her performance. “Bridget’s experience in the NHRA Junior Dragster program was a huge help to her in the class, and she transitioned to the big car with ease,” he said. He added, “We wish her the best and I look forward to working with her in the future!”

Bridget received a Chevrolet-powered 2001 Mullis dragster as a surprise gift from her family on Christmas Day. She plans to participate in local events during the upcoming 2025 season while continuing to compete in Junior Dragster events.

“Thanks to Frank Hawley’s Drag Racing School, I now have a solid foundation to help me as I move up to bigger cars,” Bridget stated, expressing gratitude for her sponsors and family support. She aims to obtain her A/Fuel license and return to the school for Top Alcohol Dragster training.

Bridget’s goals include continuing her Junior Dragster racing until she turns 18, graduating from high school, and attending Scottsdale Community College. She aspires to pursue a career in drag racing and honor her great-grandfather’s legacy.
