The Congruity NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series wraps up its regular season this weekend at Virginia Motorsports Park during the American Rebel Light Virginia NHRA Nationals. The event is powered by DPFXFIT by GESi and marks the sixth of 10 races on the 2025 calendar.
J.R. Gray and Mike Stavrinos have dominated the early season, combining for four wins through five events. Points leader Gray claimed his latest victory at Bristol, while Stavrinos remains in close contention.
Billy Banaka enters the Richmond event ranked fourth in points and seeking his first NHRA Pro Mod win. The ProCharged driver reached his first final round in Charlotte and followed with a semifinal appearance at Bristol.
“It’s been a grind, but we’re proud to be the top-running ProCharged car out here,” Banaka said. “With the warmer temperatures coming this weekend, it’s going to take some finesse – and maybe a little luck – to keep going rounds.”

The Richmond field includes 21 entries, featuring names like Rickie Smith, Alex Laughlin, reigning champ Jordan Lazic, Justin Bond, and Mike Janis. Smith, the defending event winner, also aims to make a run at the championship.
“DPFXFIT brings to market application-specific diesel particulate filters and oxidation catalysts for heavy-duty trucks,” said Darrell Trueman, Vice President of Sales at Global Emission Systems. “Sponsoring the NHRA Pro Mod class connects our technology with the capabilities of race teams and owners.”
Mason Wright is the only other race winner this season aside from Gray and Stavrinos. Both finalists from Bristol return looking to maintain their advantage in Richmond.
Qualifying begins Friday with sessions at 4 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. ET, followed by two more rounds Saturday at 12:55 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Eliminations begin Sunday at 12:20 p.m.
