Top Fuel Dragster pilot Jim Maroney is selling his complete operation. Due to a downturn with his business, American Flowtech, he is being forced to sell the team.
The business has been impacted due to the restrictions from the coronavirus pandemic.
“Home sale and reduction in business forces sale,” Maroney said on Facebook. “Make me an offer.”
His entire Top Fuel operation is up for sale for $400,000. Maroney last competed in his own dragster at the 36th annual NHRA Arizona Nationals at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park in Chandler, Arizona in February 2020.
Maroney qualified 15th at the NHRA Arizona Nationals. He lost to Steve Torrence – who was making his season debut after skipping the Pomona race – in the first-round of eliminations at the race.
Not only is Maroney selling his Top Fuel Dragster, he’s also selling his hauler and his Kenworth truck.
The ad is currently up on Racing Junk. The Top Fuel Dragster was last updated in 2019.
American Flowtech, the Chandler, Arizona company, which was also Maroney’s sponsor, is a construction consulting service. The business, which has over 25-years experience in the industry, also sponsors Maroney’s son Colton’s Sprint Car team.
“Me selling has nothing to do with [the] NHRA,” Maroney said via a text message.
The Nostalgia Funny Car and Fuel Altered racer competed in several NHRA national events, before launching his own team in 2019. As a rookie, he competed in five events in 2018 in Terry Haddock’s Top Fuel Dragster.
He also had a short-lived partnership with Kim Davidson last season, as well. When Maroney purchased the Top Fuel Dragster, he bought it from Mike Strasburg.
The Maroney family has been competing in drag racing for more than 50-years, according to their Maroney Racing Facebook page.
