Powell is busy with life after drag racing. Once known as the world’s fastest teenager, the 30-year old former nitro racer works as a social worker and manages a homeless shelter in Boston, Mass., where she has lived for the last four years.

“When I am here at the track, if you ask me, I would get back into it,” Powell admitted. “When I get a little distance, I am okay with the way things are going. When I get around the nitro and have my eyes and nose burn, I mean … come on … it never dies when it’s in your blood.”
