The Professional Racing Owners Organization (PRO) unveiled its lineup of Pro Stock drivers for the upcoming Scag Power Equipment 2024 PRO Superstar Shootout. This inaugural event will take place from February 8-10, 2024, at Bradenton Motorsports Park. These select racers will compete for a prize of $125,000.
The roster showcases an assembly of world champions, seasoned veterans, and up-and-coming talents making waves in this class.
Alan Johnson, the President of PRO, emphasized the caliber of the event.
“This is going to be a showdown among the best drivers and teams in Pro Stock,” Johnson said. “Fans can expect to see their favorite drivers racing in a relaxed yet high-stakes environment. The competition level in Pro Stock is incredible, and we’re looking forward to witnessing the top teams battle it out for $125,000.”
The PRO Superstar Shootout is an exclusive, invitation-only event limited to a 16-car field. The event will consist of four qualifying sessions starting on Thursday, February 8, followed by three additional sessions on Friday, February 9, to determine the participants’ positions in the prestigious event.
The competition will rachet up as the matchups leading up to the final round will be determined by random chip draws. To ensure that no fan misses a moment of the action, the entire event will be streamed live on FloRacing, the official livestream partner.
Many of the teams in competition are already familiar with Bradenton Motorsports Park as they are regulars at the facility during the offseason.
The PRO Superstar Shootout promoter Wes Buck is excited about the event.
“This might be a brand-new event, but these Pro Stock teams are no strangers to Bradenton,” Buck said. “Our vision for this race is an ultra-competitive shootout filled with side-by-side racing. It’s not a home run derby, but the conditions we’ll see on that second weekend in February will provide these naturally aspirated hot rods with the atmospheric conditions they need to make maximum horsepower.”
