The 892-inch engine profiled found its way into the Top Sportsman GTO of Frank Tamez, who during the recent PSCA Street Car Supernationals, provided Leonard with the ultimate commercial.
Tamez, a resident of Washington state, drove his Jerry Bickel GTO to an astounding 6.38 elapsed time. He used a Turbo 400 transmission on the run.
The thing engine builder Leonard is most proud of is not the elapsed time.
"We didn’t change a valave spring all weekend," Leonard said with a smile.
