NHRA named longtime industry veteran Rollie Miller as the new general manager of Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, placing him in charge of day-to-day operations at one of drag racing’s most prominent facilities.

Miller began the role Nov. 17 and will work out of the NHRA’s Indianapolis office. His appointment marks a return to the sanctioning body after spending nearly a decade on the Safety Safari and more than 10 years directing national events for ProMedia’s NMRA and NMCA series.

Miller will report to NHRA Vice President of Finance Tim Erdmann and oversee a venue that hosts a full slate of major motorsports events. The track is home to the Cornwell Quality Tools NHRA U.S. Nationals, a NASCAR Truck Series race and Formula Drift competition.

His professional history includes time on the Simpson NHRA Safety Safari from 2005-13 before transitioning to ProMedia, where he handled operations for a schedule that featured 12-15 national events each season. Miller remained in that position through 2024.

He joined FM3 Performance Marketing as senior event manager last November before accepting the general manager role at IRP. The move returns him to a facility deeply tied to the sport’s history.

“Rollie has displayed a longtime commitment to drag racing and has showcased proven leadership in the sport, making him an ideal fit to lead Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park,” Erdmann said. “He has a strong understanding of our operations and a great passion for NHRA drag racing, and with his guidance, we’re confident IRP will continue to grow and uphold its legacy as one of the premier facilities in motorsports.”

Miller steps in as the track moves through a multi-year improvement plan that began with the debut of the new Wally Parks Tower and suite renovations above the west-side grandstands. The next stage emphasizes drainage upgrades to help streamline parking and fan entry.

“I am extremely thrilled to step into this role of general manager at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park,” Miller said. “This is a historic facility that continues to thrive and grow, and it’s an honor to be part of the exciting future here. I look forward to working closely with race teams, fans and track partners to continue building on IRP’s incredible success and making sure it remains a centerpiece in motorsports.”
