Rumors began circulating Friday that the Prock family had tendered their resignations at John Force Racing. By day’s end, the team confirmed the split, ending a partnership that delivered back-to-back NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series Funny Car championships.
John Force Racing and the father-son combination of Jimmy and Austin Prock have officially ended their racing alliance. The move closes a dominant two-year run in which Jimmy’s tuning and Austin’s driving produced the sport’s most consistently powerful Funny Car operation.
“John Force Racing has been doing what we do for more than 50 years, and all the hard work preparing for the 2026 NHRA season continues as planned with four race teams and the Force American Made machine shop,” said 16-time Funny Car champion John Force. “We appreciate the strength and continued backing of all of the great sponsors that support us, so we’re focused on the future that includes announcing additional partnerships in the coming weeks.”
Force thanked the Prock family for their contributions and acknowledged the realities of the sport. “We are very proud of our accomplishments with the Prock family. I wish them well, and I understand that their decision to move on is just part of the business we’re in.”
The departure immediately ignited speculation about where the Procks may land next. Sources told CompetitionPlus.com the family is expected to align with another Funny Car team for 2026, a move that would instantly reshape the class’s competitive landscape. Neither Austin nor Jimmy has issued a public statement, but both are expected to remain active in the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series.
