VICE TV will debut a six-part docuseries chronicling the 2025 NHRA drag racing season, premiering Jan. 21 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, the network announced Thursday as the NHRA Finals opened in Pomona.

“Chasing Speed” offers an inside look at the National Hot Rod Association’s high-horsepower world, featuring the people and culture behind cars that reach more than 340 mph on a straight quarter-mile or 1,000-foot track. The series arrives ahead of NHRA’s 75th anniversary season in 2026.

“Chasing Speed delivers the high-stakes, adrenaline-fueled action that VICE TV audiences crave,” said Peter Gaffney, president of VICE TV. “This thrilling docuseries will have viewers on the edge of their seats, and we’re proud to partner with the NHRA as they celebrate this historic milestone for the sport.”

NHRA Vice President of Broadcast Steve Reintjes said the partnership gives drag racing a fresh platform and audience. “We’re so excited to partner with VICE TV on Chasing Speed as we showcase NHRA drag racing in a whole new light and in front of a whole new audience,” Reintjes said. “This docuseries will highlight the high-stakes action and unique personalities that make the incredible world of NHRA drag racing so special.”

Each of the six hour-long episodes follows the 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, capturing the pursuit of championships in Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle. Featured storylines include Brittany Force’s record-setting 343-mph run, Austin Prock’s emergence under his father, team owner John Force, and Antron Brown’s bid to repeat as Top Fuel world champion.

The series will also include interviews with legendary racers and historical reflections on NHRA founder Wally Parks’ vision that shaped 75 years of organized drag racing. By weaving current competition with archival moments, the production aims to bridge the past and present of the sport.

“Chasing Speed” premieres just weeks before the 2026 season begins March 5–8 in Gainesville, Fla., launching a 20-race national schedule that marks NHRA’s diamond anniversary year. The timing underscores NHRA’s efforts to expand its reach through contemporary media partnerships.

The collaboration aligns with VICE TV’s strategy to broaden its unscripted and live sports portfolio. Earlier this year, VICE TV signed a deal with the Professional Fighters League to become the exclusive U.S. telecast home for 10 international MMA events through 2026.

VICE TV currently airs more than 200 hours of sports content annually, including BKB Bare Knuckle Boxing, United Fight League, and Arena Football One. The network also recently premiered NFL Classics: After Further Review, produced by Omaha Productions and NFL Films, which revisited iconic NFL games through commentary from former players and celebrity fans.
