The Australian drag racing community is mourning the loss of a well-liked and respected drag racer.

Supercharged Outlaws racer Chris Stewart, according to multiple reports, was killed while racing his Camaro at the ANDRA Summit Super Series event at South Coast Raceway.

Stewart's accident prompted the Australian National Drag Racing Association to cancel the remainder of the event.

“It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of ANDRA drag racer Chris Stewart,” ANDRA said in a prepared statement.
