Australian Factory Extreme racer Rod Harvey made history at the 50th anniversary Gulf Western Winternationals down under at Willowbank Raceway, located outside of Brisbane. He became the first Factory Extreme driver Down Under into the five-second zone, and the third quickest in the world.
Harvey's Toyota Celica entry is based on a former Pro Stock entry built by the team over at RJ Race Cars. The speedster is powered by a Toyota 2JZ engine stroked to 3.2 liters, and carries a single large turbocharger.
"It's just heaps of boost, and hold on," admitted Harvey.
