Kyle Larson hasn't visited victory lane in the Sprint Cup series yet but those who follow the sport know, it's only a matter of time.
Larson gained valuable experience during Saturday's Ford EcoBoost 300 from Homestead-Miami Speedway. Larson led 118 laps but fought at the end to regain the lead. The break for Larson came when then leader Austin Dillon appeared to make contact with the wall in the race's waning laps.
Larson seemed to be the only driver who could find success in the track's high line, which is one of the many reasons which it's Larson's favorite track on the schedule.

For the first time since the end of the 2012 Camping World Truck Series, Matt Crafton isn't leaving Homestead-Miami Speedway celebrating a championship. Instead he's celebrating his career high sixth win on the season and his first ever at the South Florida 1.5 mile track.
Crafton started from the pole and led 99 of the race's 134 laps. While he knew the championship slipped out of reach, the two time champion wanted to finish what one could argue his most successful season in the series.

Since the 2012 Snowball Derby, Erik Jones has been among the hottest names in the NASCAR world. Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola witnessed a 16 year old Jones use a late race maneuver around Sprint Cup phenom Kyle Busch en route to a victory.
Since then Busch has held Jones in high regard.

Kevin Harvick embraces the role entering Sunday’s season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
“It makes you feel good about the way that the team has run and the things that we have done,” said Harvick during in a Thursday teleconference. “We're a confident group amongst ourselves, but you also have to be respectful because you definitely don't want to get run over by the karma train by spouting too many things off.”

This is the end, and while 43 cars will circle Homestead-Miami Speedway, at least for a while, only four will really matter.
They are the few, the proud, the finalists in NASCAR's Chase for the Sprint Cup: Kevin Harvick, Martin Truex Jr., Jeff Gordon and Kyle Busch, thoroughly dangerous men all. It's not necessarily winner take all. It's who-finishes-highest-of-the-four take all. It wouldn't be a bad idea to win, just in case.
In terms of the season to date, it's not an equitable quartet. If the point standings were apportioned across the entire season, the finalists would be ranked first (Harvick), fifth (Truex), 10th (Gordon) and 20th (Busch). Busch, you see, was absent for the first 11 races, though now that seems like a decade ago.

Dale Earnhardt, Jr, took home a win in Sunday night's rain delayed and rain shortened Quicken Loans Race for Heroes 500 at Phoenix International Raceway. More important than the race win, however, defending champion Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch and Martin Truex, Jr, joined Martinsville winner Jeff Gordon in the final four of NASCAR's Chase for the Championship.
Earnhardt, Jr, only led 22 laps and inherited his lead during a round of green flag pit stops when the yellow came out for a two-car accident between Ricky Stenhouse, Jr, and Joey Gase. Then the rain started and it didn't stop, forcing NASCAR to make the race official having run only 218 laps.

Martin Truex Jr. will be racing with a heavy heart in today's Sprint Cup Series Race at Phoenix International Raceway. He will race in memory of 10-year-old Elijah Aschbrenner, who died Wednesday of a rare form of cancer. A photograph of Elijah and his name will be displayed on Truex's race car.

Kyle Busch is no stranger to victory lane in the Xfinity series.
Busch is definitely not a stranger to victory lane at the one-mile Phoenix International Raceway. With his dominating win in Saturday's DAV 200 he's now been to victory lane there eight times in Xfinity competition -- a track record. Busch started from the pole and led 190 of the race's 200 laps en route to his sixth victory of the season in Xfinity competition.
Busch said he hoped there was some way he could translate his success in the 200 lap affair to Sunday's all-important 312 lap Sprint Cup showdown.

Twenty races had passed since Jimmie Johnson's 74th victory. He had already been eliminated from the Chase. The AAA Texas 500 was utterly dominated -- and this is 312 laps led out of a possible 334 -- by Brad Keselowski, who needed to win it in order to stay alive.
Too bad. After watching Keselowski do the heavy lifting all day, Johnson greased the skids and stole the load.
Keselowski has one more shot this week at Phoenix International Raceway. He's at the helm of a ship in perilous waters. The same is true of Joey Logano, his Penske Racing teammate, and Kurt Busch. Kevin Harvick probably doesn't have to win in order to advance into the Chase's final, title-determining round of four. Harvick has won the past four Sprint Cup races at PIR. He's the man to beat in this one, obviously.
