FEEDBACK FRIDAY - IT WAS A MISSION OF HEALING

FEEDBACK ARTICLE – OUR TAKE – IT WAS A MISSION OF HEALING

I have watched Melanie all year in Evan Knoll's car and it’s been very emotional to see that there is someone like Evan that has the same feelings many of us have.  I served in Vietnam at the beginning of the "WAR" (Feb 65 - Feb 66) and it is something I will remember for the rest of my life.

On Friday at the Pomona Finals this year I stopped by Melanie's car and she was talking to some veterans.  I was wearing my 1st Signal Brigade -Vietnam hat and shirt and after she got through talking with the other veterans came over and thanked me and shook my hand.  She is an outstanding spokesperson for Evan Knoll, all Vietnam veterans, POW's and the MIA's, many who have been forgotten.

My utmost thanks go out to Evan Knoll for this fantastic support he has given and his commitment to continue doing it again next year.

I usually go out to Pomona on Thursday and Fridays and will be going to the Winternationals next year and will surely stop by the new car to see what great things the rest of the folks who go to the other events in 2008 are in for.

We race Super Comp and won the Finals in 1994.  We built a new car 2 years ago but due to costs of traveling, etc have not been able to make enough of the Division 7 events to qualify for Pomona so we go out on Thursday and Friday so we can talk with all our friends who are racing there.

Thanks Evan, and all your folks.  What you are doing is appreciated more than you will ever know.

I hate to admit it but I am crying some as I am writing this. - Terry Almy

Thank you for an excellently written article.  Conveys exactly how I felt when first I heard Mr. Knoll was going to do a tribute dragster and how I reacted to the car when I saw it in Gainesville.  I will get to be with my personal band of brothers, the 22nd Infantry Regiment, next May in DC and I know it will come up in conversation.  That Mr. Knoll will do it again with a Funny Car next year is humbling and exciting.  Thank you all for your efforts, they will not soon be forgotten. - Phil Trover

Your article was outstanding about Melanie's car and the effect it had on us. Words cannot express the gratitude for what you've done to Honor those that didn't make it back and help those of us that did.

I read with tears in my eyes that Melanie will drive a funny car with a similar paint scheme- to do this once was unreal but to come back for a second tour- I can't thank you enough from me and my fellow Vets.

I have a lot to be thankful for-for my life and to thank God for people like you and Evan. God Bless and Thanks for Everything. - Denny Fenstermaker
