FEEDBACK ARTICLE: NORM FROSCHER - COPING WITH THE LOSS OF RACING FRIENDS

It was with great interest that I read the article that Norm Froscher wrote recently for CompetitionPlus. Having been a long time NHRA/NASCAR fan I felt the wrenching experience of losing so many great drivers/personalities/friends along the way. Not just due to racing incidents, but life incidents. This is where we believe that knowing them did make a difference in our lives - whether we had intimate relationships with them or not.  Those of us left behind may feel a terrible void from losing racing friends along the way, but our hearts should feel full from the moments of joy and the feelings of sheer excitement that we shared along the way. When Dale Earnhardt Sr. passed away I happened to hear Garth Brooks song "The Dance", and I cried like a baby.  Not from the sorrow, but from the shear joy for life that Dale loved so much in this song.  A life lesson to be learned for sure from Norm's column. - David L.
