FEEDBACK FRIDAY - STEVE GIBBS – ENJOYING A NEW ROLE

FEEDBACK ARTICLE: STEVE GIBBS – ENJOYING A NEW ROLE

12-4-07stevegibbs.jpgThank you so much for the GREAT article on my dad.  He has done so much in his lifetime to better the sport of drag racing and equally as much to help preserve it's history.  The work he has done with the California and National Hot Rod Reunions is immeasurable and his involvement in the Wally Parks Motorsports Museum is his crowning glory without question.

However, most importantly, he is an awesome man.  I speak for my whole family when I say that we adore him and appreciate him more every day.  He is a wonderful husband, father and grandfather...a side that many of his racing friends don't get to see.  He is 'Poppy' to the grandkids and they all treasure him and my mom, 'Nonny'.

Much like his mentor Wally Parks, my dad has, what I like to call, a quiet strength about him.  He is fair and logical....a very frustrating trait for me as a teenager!  But, you always knew he was making the best decision and that's what makes us all respect him so much.

Thanks again for sharing him with your readers! - Cindy Gibbs

When I worked for Frank Bradley, Steve was one of the greatest guy's to be friends with. It also didn't hurt that we both came from the same city of Baldwin Park and knew each others family members. But it was always a pleasure to come to the starting line and see Steve standing close by. If I ever had any questions regarding the race track. I could always ask Steve and get an honest answer about the conditions of a lane. I'm glad to be able to call Steve a friend. - Dave Glass
