PRO MOD SPONSOR FACES BUSY WEEKEND

As Roger Burgess prepares for this weekend's Get Screened America Pro Mod Challenge event at the United Association NHRA SuperNationals in Englishtown, New Jersey, he carries confidence in his R2B2 Racing team and their ability to field class-leading entries. Along with his racing duties, Burgess and his team will also host a number of clients from his company, ProCare Rx, throughout the weekend, and he said he is anxious for several newcomers to learn about the exciting world of Pro Mods and NHRA drag racing.

"I love drag racing for a lot of reasons. Of course, there's the thrill of competition and being on an International stage, and for me that's a driving force, but beyond that, there are so many great opportunities for business as well as helping people in the markets we touch," Burgess said. "I'm anxious to expose corporate America to this adrenaline-packed environment that I've become a part of.

"Get Screened America will be hosting a pavilion on the manufacturer's midway to screen fans for several different health disorders, and there's a kiosk for health screening that will let people sign up to win a 'Wii' and 'Wii Fit,' too - all with the goal of helping keep stay healthy.

"If we can grow our fan-base, keep people excited and introduce new fans and companies to the sport, we'll all be enjoying the races for a long time," he said. "It'll be a busy weekend, but one that I think will be very rewarding for everyone involved."

On the track, Burgess and the R2B2 Racing team will be led by veteran racer and tuner Al Billes who will field three entries: Burgess and Raymond Commisso - both in the top eight in points after five of ten events, and one driven by Top Fuel Dragster and Funny Car-driver-turned Pro Mod rookie Melanie Troxel - all guided by the team motto: 'Uno Alla Volta' - One at a time.

"We've taken every race one at a time this season, and so far, we've done very well," Burgess said. "Very well" being a mild understatement, as his performance in the ProCare Rx '68 Camaro has seated him third in points and just three round-wins out of first place.

"We're accomplishing our goals, and with each round, we are improving and working at consistency, repeating what works and avoiding the things that don't. Al and the team have worked hard to get my car and Ray's car running so well, and now with Melanie driving the Corvette this weekend, it'll be a 'three-for-all' approach as we go down the track.

"To me, we're a team that has three cars - not a three-car team with each working independently, meaning we're all in this together. We win together and we learn together - one lap at a time," he said.

"There's a whole lot in store for the weekend, and we're anxious for it to get started so we can enjoy the moments," he added.
