MASSEY DOESN'T FLINCH IN RACE WITH DIXON
Massey ran a 3.971-second time to outrun Dixon, who clocked a 4.004-second effort.
Facing the red-hot Larry Dixon is a daunting task, rookie Spencer Massey, however, didn't flinch in the second round of the NHRA Mopar Mile High Nationals at Bandimere Speedway located outside of Denver, Co.
Massey ran a 3.971-second time to outrun Dixon, who clocked a 4.004-second effort.
The win was even more impressive considering what his Don Prudhomme
Racing team went through in the 75 minutes before the round.
"We were trying to get the car to warm-up (in the pits) and the dang
thing wouldn't start," Massey said. "We had to put another motor in and
it was down to the last few minutes. I had to get in the car before we
even left the trailer and get suited up and buckled in. It was a mad
thrash and that's why we love drag racing."
Unfortunately, Massey's day ended when he lost in the semifinals to Antron Brown.
