The three-day national competition will give fans the chance to witness racing in both the NMRA Keystone Automotive Ford Nationals and the NMCA Edelbrock Muscle Car Nationals at the world's only all-concrete, four-lane drag strip.

"Racing at zMAX Dragway will be a milestone for the NMRA and NMCA series," said Charlie Harmon, President of ProMedia LLC. "All of our racers, sponsors, vendors and fans look forward to seeing the NMRA and NMCA race during the same weekend at the most state-of-the-art drag strip in the world.

"We sincerely appreciate Speedway Motorsports' support and assistance promoting what will be the largest muscle car motorsports show of 2009."

Along with featuring the muscle cars of the NMRA and NMCA, the three-day event will also include the Hot Rod Magazine Late-Model Drags Presented by Flowmaster.

Open exclusively to late-model, four-passenger cars, the late-model drags will pit '98 and newer American-made V-8s against each other to determine the fastest manufacturer between Ford, Dodge and General Motors, as well as the fastest overall car. Ford Mustangs, Dodge Chargers and the new Chevy Camaro are among the cars that will compete for the title of the fastest in late-model Detroit muscle.

The NMRA/NMCA All-Star Nationals will also include two separate car shows, a massive vendor midway, a sprawling swap meet and the legendary burnout contest.

Four jet engine-powered cars will also be on hand attempting to break the North Carolina land speed record. The jet cars will fill all four of zMAX Dragway's lanes and soar down the strip at the same time.

The NMRA/NMCA All-Star Nationals will kick-off on Friday with an open test and tune beginning at 9 a.m. First round qualifying will start at 3 p.m. with second round qualifying following at 7 p.m.

Gates open at 8 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. A full day of racing action is set to begin at 11 a.m. both days.
