Top Fuel racer Clay Millican had a scary moment recently and the experience had nothing to do with his dragster.

Millican’s son Dalton, an accomplished motocross racer, was involved in crash that rendered him unconscious. The accident occurred last Friday in Union City, Tenn., while training for an upcoming event.

The second-generation Millican was racing through a whoop section, a series of consecutive hills resembling speed bumps, and lost control of his bike. Millican was transported to the Regional Medical Center in Memphis.

Pro-Am rider Travis Moore was also training and witnessed the accident. Along with Joe Byrd, he tended to the injured Millican.

“Joe and I did all we could to keep Dalton calm when he woke up,” Moore said.

Millican suffered a severe concussion and a shoulder injury, and was released several hours later.
