MUSCLECAR REUNION ROARS INTO K.C.

One of the largest automotive events of it's kind, the 3rd Annual Muscle Car Reunion, featuring hundreds of muscle cars from the 60s and three days of nostalgia drag racing, will take over Kansas City International Raceway on Friday through Sunday, Sept. 11-13, 2009.
 
This event is unique as three of the nation's top nostalgia drag racing organizations will have a presence at the MCR as the National Hot Rod Association's "Hot Rod Heritage Series" tour, the Drag Racing On Line.com Nitro Funny Car circuit and the Nostalgia Pro Comp Association will all have their own qualifying and eliminations during the weekend making for three races in one event.  Other classes racing include the Midwest Nostalgia Super Stock, which will crown it's series champion at the race, the Hot Rod and Muscle Car divisions and the very popular "Geezer Gassers.
 
Highlighting the on-track action will be a full field of nitro Nostalgia Funny Cars racing all three days competing for the series points lead.  Entries include "Doc" Halladay's "Telstar" Plymouth Arrow, Greg "Jake" Jacobsmeyer's "All-Star" Dodge Challenger and Paul Romine's "Man-O-War" Ford Mustang among others.

Appearing in the "Legends of Speed" pits will be drag racing's biggest star, "Big Daddy" Don Garlits who will have one of his "Swamp Rat" dragsters from his museum on display and he'll also be accompanied by one of the most unique characters in the sport of drag racing, his long-time crew chief, Tommy "TC" Lemons.
 
Fans will also get to meet the legendary "Hawaiian" himself, Roland Leong and his driver from the 70s, Larry Reyes who dominated Funny Car competition back in the 70s with the infamous "Hawaiian" Dodge Charger.   Diane Sox, wife of the late Pro Stock great Ronnie Sox and founder of the Ronnie Sox foundation will also be in attendance.
 
The Muscle Car Reunion is also be a great value for fans as a three-day adult pass is only $45 with a kids three-day ticket is only $25 and kids under seven are free and every ticket includes a free pit pass.
 
To kick off the weekend's festivities a pre-race party will take place at DiCarlos Mustard Seed Restaurant, 15015 US Hwy 40, Kansas City, MO Thursday night, Sept. 10th from 7 pm until ?  Open to both fans and competitors alike there will be race cars on display and anyone with a Muscle Car Reunion wristband will receive a 15% discount on their food order.
