DUTCH CLASSIC RETURNS TO MAPLE GROVE

Fans of Sportsman drag racing will get one more chance to catch action on the track in 2009 as the Pennsylvania Dutch Classic comes to Maple Grove Raceway Thursday through Sunday, Oct. 22-25.
 
Over 600 drivers from eight different classes, including Competition Eliminator, Top Sportsman, Top Dragster, Super Stock, Stock Eliminator, Super Comp, Super Gas and Super Street, will be competing for a purse totaling over $87,000 in the NHRA Northeast Division’s season-ending event.

Over 600 drivers from eight different classes, including Competition Eliminator, Top Sportsman, Top Dragster, Super Stock, Stock Eliminator, Super Comp, Super Gas and Super Street, will be competing for a purse totaling over $87,000 in the NHRA Northeast Division’s season-ending event.
 
Also being contested is the Hemi Challenge at The Dutch that features the best Super Stock/AA Hemi powered cars from around the country. The winner of that race receives a guaranteed $6,250 first prize thanks to Mopar and Penske Truck Leasing. That race will be held Saturday, beginning at 12:30 p.m.
 
Gates open at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 8:30 a.m. Sunday. Time trials and qualifying runs in all classes will be held Thursday and Friday, with eliminations on Saturday and Sunday.
