Doner emerged with a 62.26 percent of the vote share on the strength of his story about Jungle Jim Liberman and Porky the Pirate.

Longtime southeastern doorslammer racing icon Rickie Smith dominated his match against Steve Earwood, and in the end his story about match racing Roy Hill at Sumerduck Dragway earned an 87.38 percent share of the votes.

By virtue of his larger vote percentage, Smith earns lane choice against Doner in Monday’s semi-final race.
