NO PLACE LIKE HOME FOR BROGDON

brogdon3After experiencing “Four-Wide” competition at Charlotte, Rodger Brogdon and the Attitude Apparel/The Racers Edge team are ready to return to the norm this week, and being able to do so at Houston Raceway Park just makes it that much better,

“Steve Kent’s business operations are based out of southern Louisiana,” said Pro Stock driver Rodger Brogdon, “and my roofing business is based out of northern Houston, so racing at Houston Raceway Park this weekend is a ‘coming home’ for our race team.”

“Between Steve and myself, we’ll be entertaining over 300 clients, friends and family members this weekend so to say it’ll be a normal weekend at the races for us isn’t exactly true, but we always look forward to everyone being able to come out at our home event and see our Pro Stock team in action. We’ve had a good season so far this year and have qualified well at every event except Charlotte, and that was such a unique situation we were just glad to be there on race day.”

“Now that we’ve got that Four-Wide stuff behind us, it’s time to get serious again, and to do so we’ve been testing, several days worth to be exact and we’re ready to take what we learned testing and put it to work this weekend. Steve Kent built a heck of a race shop at No Problem Raceway and we were able to get some work and testing done last week. With the conditions there being so close to what we should have this weekend everyone is excited to get back to Two-Wide racing.”

“To say that we’re familiar with the track would certainly be an understatement,” Brogdon continued. “We’ve been down this track in numerous cars, class’s and weather conditions. Houston is literally a sea level track and we’ve seen conditions here that surpass any place else on the tour. We’ve raced in weather conditions here where the corrected altitude was over 1000’ below sea level, and naturally aspirated engines can really make horsepower in that kind of conditions.”

“This weekend’s forecast doesn’t look like we’ll see that type of weather, but it is forecast to be cool and dry, so we’ll certainly take those conditions and not ask any questions. After experiencing rain at literally every race except Pomona, we are all ready for a good, dry weekend!”

“Houston has been good us over the years and it would be nice to be able to go the distance this weekend.  But there will be 24 other Pro Stock drivers there this weekend looking to do the same thing and as tight as the fields have been this year, every weekend is a challenge for us to do our best. I’m sure that Tommy (Utt) and the guys will have us ready to rumble all weekend long.”
