Mother Nature has caused Roy Hill to change his racing plans this weekend.

Hill’s Spring Fling event featuring the Outlaw Door Slammer Series scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Holly Springs (Miss.) Motorsports Park has been postponed because the weather forecast is calling for rain all weekend.

“We were sort of stuck between a rock and a hard spot,” Hill said. “We have people coming in from Florida, Texas, New York and we know it’s calling for 70 percent chance of rain Friday, Saturday and Sunday and possible tornadoes. So, we decided (Wednesday) evening to postpone the race. Our series is for the racers and about the racers and we wouldn’t do anything to jeopardize our racers.”

Hill says a make-up date for the Holly Springs event will be announced shortly.

Hill’s first race this season will now be the South Carolina Spectacular, featuring the Outlaw Door Slammer Series, June 4-6 at Orangeburg (S.C.) Dragway.

Attitude's Competition Plus is sponsoring the Outlaw Door Slammer Series in Orangeburg, SC.

According to Hill, an announcement also will be made shortly about TV coverage for his drag racing series.
