MMPSA HEADED TO US 131

MMPSA_US131The Fastest Track in Michigan will be host to the second stop on the MMPSA’s inaugural tour as Mountain Motor Pro Stocks head to US 131 Motorsports Park for the NAPA 2010 Thunder Nationals, May 7th and 8th.

The Thunder Nationals have a storied history at US 131, spanning decades. This year’s event will feature the MMPSA, but also showcase alcohol dragsters, the Chi-Town Hustler, Nostalgia Nitro Funny Cars, and the Queen of Diamonds Jet Dragster.

“We are pleased to see that the MMPSA chose US 131 Motorsports Park as one of their races this year,” US 131 Motorsports Park’s General Manager Jason Peterson said.  “Pro Stocks have been at this track for many years and the professionalism and dedication they bring, both on the track and off, make them a real crowd pleaser. We are delighted to once again host racers like Pete Berner, Bob Bertsch and Dean and Cary Goforth and many others who raced in the IHRA series.”

US 131 Motorsports Park recently repaved their track. The already impeccable surface was improved, now laid with concrete to 1000 ft. This, combined with expected cool temperatures, should once again prove that US 131 is in fact, the ‘Fastest Track in Michigan.’ Pro Stock records are likely to fall with numerous drivers capable and aiming to make that happen.

MMPSA qualifying begins Friday at 5pm with two more runs following at 7 and 9pm. Saturday will see one more qualifying session at 2pm with eliminations following at 4pm. Cary Goforth will be looking to continue his winning ways after capturing the first win on the tour just a few short weeks ago. But heavy hitters such as Bob Bertsch, Mark Martino, Pete Berner and Cary’s own father Dean won’t let that happen without a fight.

Friday tickets are just $12. Saturday tickets are $18 in advance and $25 at the gate. Kids just $5. See participating NAPA Auto Parts Stores for a $10 off coupon for Saturday.
