Amanda Matusek, daughter of Aeromotive founder and President, Steve Matusek runnered-up at the NHRA Division 5 race this past weekend in Stock Eliminator at the NHRA Division 5 at the LODRS in Great Bend, KS. This was her first participation as a competitor on the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series divisional level.

Matusek, driving the AA/SA Aeromotive Cobra Jet Mustang, qualified 16th with a 10.164 elapsed time and worked her way through the field as if a seasoned veteran.

“She really impressed me,” said Steve Matusek. “I am extremely proud of her. She handled herself so well, staying composed under pressure and handling her success very humbly. It was neat to watch.”

Miss Matusek added, “It was a ton of fun and the car was really on a mission. It’s a lot of fun to race with a good car and all the support in the world behind you. I’d really like to thank all the manufacturers that helped us put this car together. Aeromotive’s 2008 Cobra Jet Mustang is  a prototype form Ford; number 3 of 3 to be exact and the only automatic car to come from the factory.
