LINE'S WAGON ON THIS WEEKEND'S HORSEPOWER TV

WagonEven as Pro Stock standout Jason Line competes at this weekend’s Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals in Atlanta, GA one of his favorite off-track projects will be receiving attention, as the build-up of the 557 big block for his 1968 Biscayne hot rod wagon will be featured during Saturday’s airing of HorsePower TV.

Taped at the KB Racing shops in Mooresville, NC last December, the piece will show Line, his teammate Greg Anderson and the entire crew working together to assemble and dyno the power plant for what promises to be an extremely quick “grocery getter”. The half-hour show is currently scheduled to air at 10:42 a.m. on Spike TV (Eastern – please check your local listings for the exact time in your area.)

“This engine build turned out to be a great team project, and to have the final assembly shown on HorsePower TV will be pretty cool,” said Line.  “I had originally planned to just drop a freshened 427 from another vehicle into the wagon, until the guys at the shop started to hack on me about doing that so I went to Plan B, which is what you will see on the air.

“Of course, once I decided on building a totally new engine, I went overboard, starting with the size.  Everyone builds a 572, 565 or 540, and I just wanted something a little different, cubic-inch wise, so I paged through the Summit catalog and came up with a 557.  I don’t want to ruin the show and give too much away, but let’s just say we ended up with a tremendous piece, one that just about anyone can duplicate.”

“I want to thank everyone from Summit and Horsepower TV for making this happen and putting the show together.  I know we had a lot of fun filming it, so I hope the fans not only enjoy watching it, but maybe get the urge to try one of these builds themselves.”

Shown every week as part of Spike TV’s Powerblock, Horsepower TV covers the entire hot rodding spectrum.  Hosted by Joe Elmore and tech expert Mike Galley, it offers everything from speed secrets and tech tips for the street and strip to the latest news from track and products offerings from a wide variety of suppliers.
