Come July 9th, win, lose, or draw, John Nobile will be one very proud papa.

Nobile, the 2004 IHRA mountain motor Pro Stock champion, will be in  Martin, Mich., at the MMPSA event as his son, Vincent, makes his drag racing debut in his father's 2010 Ford Mustang.

Already a licensed Pro Stock driver, 18 year old Vincent Nobile will make his driving debut at the event behind the wheel of his father’s NHRA ride.

The elder Nobile has mixed emotions about the upcoming event.

“You’re always a little nervous, right?” admitted Nobile, “But we’re pretty excited about his debut event. We’re hoping to do well with the car. We’re basically bringing a knife to a gun fight, being in NHRA trim with all these Mountain Motors, but if we’re fortunate enough to qualify Vincent will get his first chance to run in competition. I think he’ll surprise most people.”

For the operators of the MMPSA, it's an exciting time for the organization.

“We are very proud to have Vincent make his professional debut with the MMPSA,” stated Tommy Dupree of the MMPSA. “If he is half the competitor his father is, these guys better watch out. John’s name in Mountain Motor Racing will forever be remembered as one of the best and I think it is very cool to be a part of the next generation.”
