REICHERT CLINCHES DIV 3 TITLE WITH WIN AT BOWLING GREEN

RIECHART_CWith his victory in this past weekend at the NHRA Division 3 event in Bowling Green, KY, driver Bill Reichert and his Rislone Engine Treatment Top Alcohol Dragster have unofficially clinched the Division 3 title, and increased their lead in the national points chase heading into the 56th Annual MAC Tools US Nationals in Indianapolis this weekend.

Reichert, hailing from Owosso, MI, qualified second with his Rislone-backed machine, setting the stage for what would be a merciless romp through the rounds en route to the finals.  “We settled right in at Beech Bend Raceway Park,” said Reichert.  “It was hot and muggy all weekend, and typically when that’s the case the track will tend to go away.  But Beech Bend’s track crew was absolutely on it all weekend long, and gave us a great track to put on a show for the fans.”

With his victory in this past weekend at the NHRA Division 3 event in Bowling Green, KY, driver Bill Reichert and his Rislone Engine Treatment Top Alcohol Dragster RIECHART_Chave unofficially clinched the Division 3 title, and increased their lead in the national points chase heading into the 56th Annual MAC Tools US Nationals in Indianapolis this weekend.

After qualifying second with a 5.409 @ 261.22mph, Reichert handily dispatched Jared Dreher in the first round of eliminations, running a 5.356 @ 263.56mph, which would stand as the low ET of the event.  The semi-finals would see Reichert continue his winning ways, advancing past challenger Ken Perry despite slowing down to a 5.414 @ 260.91mph.

The finals would work out beautifully for Reichert and his team, as they refined their tune-up to compensate for the heat in both the air and the track, running a 5.425 @ 259.36mph, blowing past Iowa’s Richard Putz who struggled in the final round with an ET of 29.174.

“What a weekend, I don’t know what else to say!” said and enthused Reichert.  “We essentially locked up yet another Division 3 title this weekend, and that is just superb.  This is one of the toughest NHRA divisions to win a race in, much less a title, so I think that says a lot about our Rislone Engine Treatment dragster.  A big thanks to the Beech Bend Raceway Park crew for their hard work all weekend long on the track, they gave us a great surface to race regardless of what Mother Nature threw at us.”

With this win, Reichert also took a few more steps towards winning yet another NHRA Top Alcohol championship.  Should Reichert win this year’s title, he will have captured his fifth consecutive NHRA Top Alcohol championship, an accomplishment that is astounding in any drag racer’s books.

“With all of this great momentum, we’re going to get the car ready for Indy as quick as we can, and see if we can’t bring home a win at drag racing’s most prestigious event,” said Reichert.

“I usually prefer to let my car do the talking, so all I can really say is ‘Indy, here we come.”
