RICHARD FREEMAN RACING PRO STOCK IN VEGAS AND POMONA

Richard Freeman, owner of the racing conglomerate, Elite Motorsports, will be back behind the wheel in his Pro Stock GXP for the final two events on the NHRA DSA_8892tour. Freeman has proven himself the capable driver for several years but, more recently, turned to team owner and sponsor within the Elite Motorsports family. This year Elite Motorsports has helped field a number of cars through ride and drive or sponsorship programs included NHRA Pro Stock drivers Rickie Jones, Richie Stevens and Mike Trumble. The sponsorship with Stevens concluded at the NHRA Fall Nationals in Dallas and Jones discontinued his NHRA Pro Stock season after Indy. Freeman will take over the responsibilities of representing Elite at the final two events.

“I’m very excited to be back behind the wheel,” told Freeman. “I enjoy being on the more administrative side of things, but nothing can compare to being in the driver’s seat. With our deals being completed with Richie and Rickie, I am free to be more involved as a driver. I enjoyed working with these folks and wish them the best. I hope to see Richie back out here soon.”

Jones, prior to the Elite Motorsports sponsorship, competed under backing from the family-owned Quarter-Max chassis and racing components business and will compete with the American Drag Racing League in Pro Nitrous for 2011. Stevens is currently looking for more long term sponsorship.

Along with flying the Elite Motorsports and Elite Performance flags, Freeman will also receive associate backing from RaceAuction.com, an online auction site for motorsports. RaceAuction.com, which was developed to provide an International Auction Marketplace for everything related to racing, has everything from tow rigs to equipment to dirt cars, oval cars, hot rods and antiques.

“We’ve begun testing in preparation for Vegas,” added Freeman, “and have already been a 6.61 at 208.60. I’m looking forward to what we can accomplish at The Strip. Jimmy Oliver [Elite Performance engine builder] has been working hard to gain more power for us. His expertise is what we need to competitive in NHRA Pro Stock.”

David Nickens, Robert Freeman, and Pete Smallwood will share tuning duties for the Elite Motorsports GXP.
