Don Schumacher Racing plans to field four Funny Cars in 2011 although the details have yet to be announced on the newest ride. However, team owner Don Schumacher is adamant one of those drivers will be Jack Beckman.

A rampant rumor making the rounds at the recently completed Auto Club NHRA Finals suggested the driver of the MTS/Valvoline Dodge Charger, was out of a ride for 2011.

“That’s just not true,” Schumacher told Attitude’s CompetitionPlus.com. “Jack will drive for me next year. I don’t know how this stuff gets started.”

On another issue, Schumacher confirmed that while John Medlen was relieved of his duties as crew chief of the NAPA Auto Parts Funny Car driven by Ron Capps, he will still remain as part of DSR.
