TORCO COALITION RESULTS - ROCKINGHAM

Allen Britt of Rowland and Mark Arthur of Sandy Level, Va., both won $5,000 during the first TORCO Carolina Coalition Series of the season at Rockingham Dragway. The total two-day purse exceeded $30,000.

Britt, driving the Raven Rock Racing's Chevy Beretta, won Saturday's program defeating Bobby Hardee of Mullins, S.C., driving a Chevy Nova.  Britt won with an elasped time of 5.551 seconds at 108.52 m.p.h. on a dial-in of 5.42.  Hardee ran too quick under his 6.60 dial-in by six one-thousands of a second with a 6.594 time at 104.27 m.p.h.

Chip Johnson of Fayetteville became the semi-finalist when he lost to Britt.

Arthur won his $5,000 prize on Sunday defeating runner-up Jerry Brewer of Lumberton in a near perfect run, turning the eight-mile course in 4.860 seconds off of his 4.86 dial-in, after a reaction time of .006.  Both competitors were driving Racetech Dragsters. Brewer lost by running too quick with a time of  4.797 off of a 4.81 dial-in.

John Terry West of Lumberton was the semi-finalist in his Chevy S-10.    

Scott Macy of Randleman collected $2,000 and won for the second time in six days at Rockingham Dragway when he took top honors in Saturday's Footbrake class over Tim Wilson of Lillington in the finals.  Macy was the March 4 winner in the Stock class during the IHRA Pro Am.

The semi-finalists were Joe Lewis of Bladenboro and Tim Griffith of Cedar Bluff, Va.

The Sunday Footbrake $2,000 winner was Tommy Duff of Holly Ridge and Griffith finished as the runner-up.  Tim Cowick of Lumber Bridge and Ken Myrick of Julian were the semi-finalists.

The Trailers of the East Coast Junior Dragster division was won by Corey Penny of Louisburg and Trey Williams of Aberdeen.  The Saturday runner-up was David Gilreath, Honea Path, and Sunday’ s runner-up was Troy Brewer of Shannon.

The TORCO Carolina Coalition is a 8-race series offering a total payout of $260,000, including season ending bonuses.
