MAPLE GROVE'S REORGANIZATION

Maple Grove Raceway today announced the reorganization of its management team.  Lex Dudas has been promoted to the position of Vice President and General Manager effective immediately.

Dudas had been Director of Sales and Marketing since rejoining the track staff in 2004.  Previously he was Track Manager at Maple Grove Raceway from 1972 through 1978 before leaving to work for the National Hot Rod Association as Southeast Division Director from 1979 through 1992 and then General Manager of Indianapolis Raceway Park through 1995.  Dudas’ impressive career also includes stints as Operations Director at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and General Manager of Pikes Peak International Speedway in Colorado Springs, CO.

“Lex and I worked side by side during the early years at Maple Grove to build a solid foundation with our racers, fans and sponsors.  He lobbied NHRA to locate a National Event here in 1985,” said Mike Lewis, speaking on behalf of the Maple Grove Raceway Board of Directors.  “Lex has been instrumental in every phase of our growth over the years and has done an outstanding job as Director of Sales and Marketing since his return in 2004.”

Long time staff members George Case and John Krupiak have been released to pursue other options as part of the reorganization plan.   Additional announcements can be expected in the weeks ahead as additional key staff members are confirmed.

Maple Grove Raceway enters its 46th year of operation in 2008 and is recognized worldwide as one of the leading NHRA drag racing facilities.  Owned by the descendents of the late Alfred S. Stauffer, who constructed the raceway on his Maple Grove Park property in 1962, the quarter-mile track has been the site of numerous world speed records.  In addition to the annual NHRA Toyo Tires Nationals in August, Maple Grove Raceway hosts over 80 days of racing each year for local, national and international racers and fans.
