The Hangoverfest is the only Midwest event with drag racing on New Years day. Gates open at 10 AM with racing underway at 11 AM into the late afternoon. "One year we had a winter storm warning as still had a great turn-out and a lot of fun; so this year should be a piece of cake" mentioned Gardner. Admission is $10 to watch or race. In addition, free aspirin and can coozies will be given out at the gate. The heated Interstate Batteries Cafe will also be open with food and beverage as well as $1 bloody marys for those 21 and older and not racing.
